When I call astro yesterday, the CS said there are no charges or additional condition to swap the old dmt to byond. So the old dmt can be kept without paying rm80 to the installer. There is also no contract and it is not compulsory to subscribe HD service. So any non byond users can swap for free with no condition.

Just upgraded one of my old decoder to Beyond HD, and they didn't even take the old decoder back, only the smart card.

I am aware that astro multiroom can be used at different location.

I have two astro account at this moment, my house and my parent house. Both using super pack 1.

I am thinking to cancel my house subscription and get astro multiroom under another account.

My question is, if i cancel my subscription, is it astro will take back astro dish at my house? If yes, where can i find dish installation services?

They will not take back your dish and decoder. You just need to return your smart card or pay RM 80.

If contract ended already, no need to return back.

To chuppachop, i've read this info:

QUOTE
StarHub is ditching its "upsize" concept from 1 September and merging its basic groups with the corresponding "upsize" packages to offer one "basic" package in each of seven genres. The price? About S$30, which is the same as the basic+upsize. So we get simpler and they get the extra money. Seems fair. (Content Asia)

Thanks.....I've kept Starhub subscription to the minimum 3 basic groups....am takin those movie chs pack on mio TV instead. :-)

Btw, some test HD chs added to Starhub EPG, 2 HD news, 1 Ent HD n 2 factual HD.

My guesses are Warner TV HD, bio HD n CITV HD. Not sure abt news chs though.....maybe CNNI HD n BBCW HD.

Will update again. Have a good weekend.

Hi guys, I got my IPTV installation done today. I feel cheated by the astro installer. Wanted to get your opinion and what you guys think.

1. Installation for multiroom (aka 2nd decoder) is 2nd level in a terrace house

2. Main unit IPTV modem is at the ground floor, Astro people claim that they need to connect a network wire from the modem to upstairs which is about 30-40 meters and they will charge 1meter = RM10. So they suggest me a seemless connection by Azrech homeplug network which cost RM450.

3. Astro people said that in a threaten way that if I don't pay for this, they will take away the decoders and would not continue with the installation

Now the interesting point is that, stupid me for accepting it, I learn that from price list in lowyat.net that the Aztech homeplug model HL115EP actually cost RM105 for single unit & RM199 (twin bundle) reference http://images-cdn.lowyat.net/pricelists/PC...it-hardware.pdf. That is an earning of 120%!!!

what you guys think? can I force them to refund? I know a way to file a complaint to tribunal as last resort but for RM200 it is not really worth the time and effort, do you guys think complaining to astro will help?

RM88 you can get a pair from TP-Link for HomePlug... the payment is to the Installer and Astro has no "jurisdiction" ... the most is Astro stop them as Official Installers.

HONG KONG — A+E Networks has unwound its Asian channel distribution partnership with Malaysia’s Astro and will instead run the business as a stand-alone company.

Currently known as AETN All Asia Networks, the company will be renamed A+E Networks Asia and will continue to be run from Singapore by Alan Hodges, managing director, Asia-Pacific for A+E Networks.

Reset your decorder (power off and on again). If nothing, call Astro Support. Good luck.
