HP DV6 sticky keyboard issue. Anyone has this problem with sticky keyboard. You will notice it when typing long document when by pressing a key ....a few repetition appears.
Like thisss...then got to use backspace a lot. very very frustrating.

Actually I'm running Ubuntu. Thanks anyway, I see if it's the keyboard dirty or the OS issue. Update you guys shortly.

Hello everybody. Another year has passed and it's been exactly 2 years 1 month since I've been using the HP DV6-6168TX unit. Unfortunately, until now still unable to find a similar price update model unless I change brand or to a gaming unit. I've replaced the BD drive with a HDD Caddy and internal 2.5" HDD twice due to bad sectors in both WD hard disks. Thankfully now reverted back to Toshiba's 1TB as a secondary storage drive. Dual booting from OCZ SSD. The Question: Has anyone come across HGST Travelstar 5K1500 1.5TB 2.5-Inch Mobile 5400 RPM 9.5mm Internal Bare Hard Disk Drive 0J28001 in Malaysia? Is available via Amazon, but prefer to seek locally due to warranty claim convenience. Would appreciate it if someone has and can share their finding? My 1TB running at 95% now due to VM. May you all have a good week ahead. Thanks.

found it...replacement model.. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/worksta...s/zbook-15.htmlQUOTE(storky20 @ Jan 17 2014, 10:32 PM) Well, there is that 15 inch HP Envy model that's been around. The thing about it tho is that there's no optical drive and it looks like a MacBook lol. So I reckon not much modification can go along with it... Price around 3.3-3.6k

It's been a while since I read this forum topic. I'm still using the DV6 for work & play. So far with 12.04 installed, switchable graphics card was possible to turn off and turn on. Thanks for the posting, this happened to me! I was plugging it in at my customer's office one day and heard crackling sound. Immediate I turn it off and change the cord after. It is the portion of the cord from wall socket to the AC/DC adapter. QUOTE(Efalex @ Aug 29 2014, 02:33 PM)

QUOTE(botac_6 @ Jul 21 2014, 04:14 PM) does anyone know where i can get cpu fan replacement for DV6-6C19TX other than service centre? I changed my fan DV6-6168TX at Vistacomm-IT Mall Section 14. 1st floor. However, my HP model, the design itself was flawed. It has only 1 fan for discrete switchable GPU & Intel i7. No choice but to improvise with this!
Does it work? Cannot say is awesome but does a better job vacuuming heat out from a single fan chassis. It needs its own power adapter not just 5V of USB power.
