is Recovery option still available for you when you press F11 on boot?

Oh nevermind that.
I've decided to stick with this laptop.
But I'm planing to change it to an SSD and to Wins 8.
Has anyone switch to wins 8 yet ?
Is there any driver problems for the gpu ?
And my budget for the SSD is around Rm400+- .
Any recommendations ? biggrin.gif
Thanks

^ lol? What happened?

For RM400+ i think Samsung 840 Pro 128GB is a good choice. For more budget friendly, get Plextor M5S or the good ol' Crucial M4.
*
saw some benchmark, apparently the dv6 is still better laugh.gif
i think I'll go for the crucial m4. smile.gif
anyone using wins8 on the dv6. so far any probs with the drivers ? sweat.gif

Yup, my laptop work flawlessly with UnifL 13.2 Beta 5, i can't switch to AMD GPU with UnifL 13.3. You mileage may vary. tongue.gif
*
Alright, will try it out.
So I just need to install that leshcat only ?
Or do I need to install the HP driver before the leshcats ?
If need to install the HP driver got link for it ? laugh.gif
Thanks ~

Oh yeah 1 more thing Acid, when you install the leshcat driver, do you get the watermark thing on the bottom right ?
I've checked, if you remove it using the tool, under computer -> properties -> windows is activated -> (click view details in windows activation) -> current edition(would be blank) instead of stating your version. Is this because of the DSE ?

Yeah it is because of DSE. I going to try his latest public test driver, he use a signed driver so its not gonna use DSE.
*
I just installed 13.3 v2.2
I think it's not really stable yet, you can't switch your gpu. sweat.gif

the list of drivers you gave me, which ones are important to install for wins8 ?
so far, I've install the
wifi(ralink),
synaptics,
audio codec,
Intel Rapid Storage Technology,
smile.gif

oh one more thing, I tried looking for the bluetooth model from device manager but I can't seem to find it.
which bluetooth driver did you install acid ?

do not unscrew that heatsink (12 oclock) if you don't have thermal pad.

That looks like the stock thermal paste HP applied.
