1 1/2 years - Current - Kumpulan V*I* RM2700

Any advise is it worth still work here???

It's hard to find a company to pay such amount...i have go to Padini to ask but then they still can't pay such amount.. dunno is it local company is like tis.   

draw graphic for graphic t-shirt normally... but now onli manage to start to touch merchandising stuff. Previously just draw draw draw... i have try for other graphic design company but all my portfolio is t-shirt then they not so sure bout my other graphic and i'm worry will get fresh pay by tat time..     

ya.. currently start to do all freelance including t-shirt graphic , calendar , diary book... unfortunately 3D not my major skill.. i see nowadays interior designer quite pay well.

You guys need to form a Designer Union among yourself, and get get these greedy ass company start paying more for your work, am pretty much sadding looking and reading from all your so called "Designer Salary" .

As for me am also in IT but more to support in Windows, Server, Network, LAN but that is just support and am getting 5.5K + 500 allowance with only 3 years experience.

Start demanding more guys, with upcoming GST + Subsidies cut + Inflation + Deficit of RM value, how you guys are going to survive ??

Just to ask, most of the GD here now have Degree or Diploma?

Cos its hard to find & recruit those designers with diploma nowadays.... Been looking around for the past few months

For those who are getting the short end of the stick, you have to learn to say no.

For clarification here is a salary chart. This for the 2d animation industry.

Fresh Grad (must have a good grasp of your skill set): Rm1500-Rm1800

1 year experience: Rm2000

2 years experience: Rm2500

3 years experience: Rm3000

4 years experience Senior level: Rm3500

5 years experience Leader level: Rm4000

6 years experience Assistant Director level: Rm4500

7 years experience Director: RM5000-Rm7000

This is the market price. Before someone says this is BS, this is the amount i pay to my staff. Inclusive of yearly bonuses and additional expenditure. Note that your pay will not go beyond a certain threshold if you do not wish to take on a more responsible role.

Many say that the industry is cheap when it comes to proper salary or freelancing employment. Let me make a statement regarding this, the problem is not solely on the employers, but rather also on the individuals who destroys the market for everyone else.

When an employer feels that they can get away with paying peanuts, they will apply this to everyone, especially employers who have no knowledge in the specific industry. This escalates as more ill informed and desperate individuals source themselves out for cheap.

On the bright side of things, if that company provides international project exposure, its good to tolerate just for the experience. Building your skill set early and then following up with a career path. Set a milestone goal for yourself so at the end of the day, you have a focus on what you want.

Guys i really need help on choosing where to work to boost my career as a
designer. Got offers from 3 company from the interviews but in a dilemma
which one to decide and only 1 company that is mature and gave me an offer
letter even before i said i need time to think as they need me immediately.

Im a fresh grad, The director offered me a ;2.6k salary ( probation )  and 2.8k ( after probation ). they also put up a commission for 3% based on the jobs/designing i did for the clients. This is by far a good offer for me. and to top it off, theyre willing to send me to 3d classes as most of their clients are logistic and property companies.
And with paid allowance going to those classes. Im a fresh deg grad btw. 2 months freelance after finished study now need to find a stable salary for my future.
Really love this offer tho but what do you guys think ?

Dude come on. If your experience is only 4 months, then you're more of a Junior Designer. So I'm guessing you've more than 4 months.

Try an MNC or some other HUGE local co.The salary will be at least 2.5, 2.8 if you've a degree. And seriously, I know people are like 'oh no point doing a degree', but TRUST ME. MNC cos (the ones who can actually pay you with decent hours and benefits, not like MNC advertising cos- crazy hours) want degree holders.

Co's like Sime Darby, any Pharmaceutical co's, education providers (Taylor's Uni etc). Primary preference given to degree holders. I knew someone who worked there after graduation and got 2,500 as their first pay. This was back in 2007 maybe. STill, pretty good.

Hard to say, but you could try for about 4k maybe? If it's an exec position then I suppose for big co's like those I mentioned they might be able to pay that much. But seriously their benefits are so much much more better than the MNC advertising agencies. Working hours will be better too.
