many shops selling dopod 818 pro for RM2588 with 512mb and screen protector. Got mine with 1GB for RM2620.

yesterday was using Opera Browser 8.5 beta to post here, after 3 posts it then suddenly dissapear from my screen. Try to launch Opera again but nothing happens, had to soft reset then only can use Opera again (?)

Any software to block/blacklist incoming calls?

Bought a O2 mini silicon case for RM25 yesterday at OS Cellular. Its the "almost" clear type. Wanted to get capdase silicone with plastic cover but the nice guy said its not fitting. After putting in my cheap silicone case, noted reset button wrong side and stylus opening needs to be longer.

today my opera browser and worldmate pro can't work. So removed Opera Browser and went to Opera site to download again,also cannot install. Then went to File Explorer --> Application Data --> and removed a folder called Opera. Tried downloading again and this this it installed and got 45 days again

My Worldmate Pro icon changed to folder and when i slick on it, message came out not PPC application. There's another folder called CIH and same msg appears when i click it. Got no idea what is CIH, someone said its a virus

Any antivirus software out there?

thanks bro, saw your post at MPC and downloaded Air Scanner - no virus in my dopod I think CIH is not a virus after looking thru CIH folder and think its a conversion software.

Getting a bit pissed off got to soft reset. Also i notice that my dopod 818 hangs after charging it. Got to soft reset.

i don't find my dopod slow or lag except when it first start up (after soft -reset), as alkt mentioned - always end program that are not in use and best way to do it is in Settings--> System--> Memory--> Running Programs--> Stop or Stop All

For those of you having problems disconnecting to GPRS, follow above steps to ensure MSN is stopped and also always sign out from MSN Messenger to avoid continuous connection to GPRS.

The only thing i am not happy is that have to soft reset many times and SD card suddenly not detected.

Got to soft reset when

1. charge phone using wall charger.
2. play Astrogames and midway got to do something else so did not stop the program/exit and goto standby, when turn on again phone hangs.

bro, ya my unit is set to turn off device on external power after few minutes idle.

Got good news, this morning when on back the 818 pro, no hanging. I made sure last night before charging i stopped all programs running in Memory. Guess that solves the problem.

Another problem i encounter is that so far 5 programs with icons have change to "folder" and when i click on them, its says not a PPC application. The programs are Opera Browser 8.5b, Worldmate Pro, CIH (conversion in hand), Resco Guardians and Resco Sudoku.

The programs all were running ok but suddenly one day the icon change to "folder". It happened last week when i was browsing with Opera Browser and suddenly Opera dissapear and when i did a soft reset the said programs icons all changed to "folder icon". I have since reinstalled Opera Browser and its working fine and deleted CIH, Resco Guardians and Resco Sudoku since i don't used them.


And boy, using 818 pro while driving is really susah and dangerous, that's why i am not using it as my Main Phone but as a back up.

how much you got it for, if you don't want it i may be interested to get the black silicone case from you.

i bought the kinda "clear" silicone case but also didn't like it.

Actually i have a kinda clear silicon case but then its not black and doesn't look nice with my Black Dopod.

I got mine for RM2620 with screen protector and 1GB card at Digital Gadget and CC no surcharge.

aiya, just figured out how to turn on flight mode after reading your post. Last time on the plane i turn off my 818 pro

firstly the software have to be WM 5.0 compatible. Just download it to your PC and run the software. Next time you sync your dopod, it will install automatically into your dopod. Or alternatively, some sites allow you to download directly into your dopod.

i just upgraded my ROM, had problems connecting to msn and the internet via GPRS and my home wi-fi until followed instructions below posted at MPC.

1. Connections
2. Manage exixting connections
3. click on "Proxy Settings" tab
4. Uncheck the 2nd tick "This network uses proxy server to connect to the internet" to disable the proxy server.
5. Click "OK" to exit to Connections.
6. Make sure "Maxis Internet Settings" is selected in both top and bottom boxes.


after the ROM upgrade i noted that start up is faster i.e. input password and Sim card pin much much faster response

updated my ROM today and don't have backup software. So got to go look for some utilities. Following freewares all work fine with my dopod 818pro.

1. Calendar+
2. Magic Button
3. xbar
4. cLaunch

Luckily most of my games saved in my SD card earlier.

Noted that the new ROM also improved the speed wi-fi is connected to my home wi-fi.

goto to Programs --> click on Auto Configure --> select Maxis (default IOIO) ---> then click OK

i have the same problem until i turn off firewall security, then can ativesync

need advise lah, have this phone for more than 5 months but still dun know how to sent files via BT to other devices
