I bought my Dopod 818 Pro last saturday, and loving it. But the camera is a bit slow, and the quality is not that good with low light condition. Have to look for silicon cover, etc. soon because when my hands are abit oily, it stains my black coloured Dopod. Still haven't read through the manual though. Haven't got the time yet.

Hi fellow Dopoders, anyone installed the new ROM yet ? PPCSG and myPDACafe has posted some interesting forums on the new ROMs.

I want to upgrade mine too, but i need to backup my Dopod. Do u all know what else is there to backup other than contacts and the calendar  and what software can do all this backup one shot ?

Thanks and itz a privilege being a Dopod owner smile.gif

I have installed the new ROM update. The only problem that I have is that I can't browse the internet using my home Wifi network. The page comes out blank. Is there anyone else facing this problem? I've e-mailed Dopodasia and waiting for the reply now.

Another thing is that, I find the ringtone volume is quite low except for "Jig" ringtone. That is the only ringtone that I find the loudest. I have installed the WM5 update that is suppose to solve the speaker quality, but the volume is still a bit low to my liking.

Thanks man... it worked!

Anyone know where I can find a cheap & good rubber/silicon/etc. casing for my Dopod 818 Pro? I've asked around and they're quite expensive. Around RM100 +/-.

hey, i'm new here. i got a dopod 818 pro recently and found out that WM5 PIE dun have Java and Flash plugin. tried to search the net for quite sometime now but can't find any Java plugin for PIE. anybody here found reliable Java plugin for WM5?

For flash i found that Micromedia released their new Micromedia Flash 7.0 for PPC. I downloaded and installed it but somehow PIE still can't play flash files. sad.gif why??? help!!!

I managed to view flash content with my Dopod. What I did was, I downloaded the .cab file (for Pocket PC) from Macromedia Flash website. Then, I transfered the file into my Dopod using ActiveSync. After that, I run the file in my Dopod, then it's installed. That's all. After that, I could view Flash content in Internet Explorer. eg. www.singer.com.my

I dont know what had happened to my 818pro ... but I have to re-align my screen everyday ... the worst happened .. I have to unplug the battery first ..put it back.. turn the device ON .. and then do the re-alignment ..

is it hardware problem .. or the operating system problem? thanks.

I guess the best thing to do is to just send it back for repairs. I assume it's still under warranty right?

I'm having this problem too. Not sure what went wrong. It keep on saying "could not update itsutills.dll....." I've restarted the device & computer. Then, I reflashed using Prophet_PV_Temp, still cannot. Hmm...

Added on August 12, 2007, 4:22 pmOkay, I've managed to install 4.0.0.0.6. Wooo.. So nice my Dopod now. Hehehe..

The problem was, After restarting from install Prophet_PV_Temp, just leave ActiveSync as it is. Don't setup ActiveSync. Just proceed with 4.0.0.0.6 installation.

Now, I wanna explore my new Dopod 818 Pro. Feels like falling in love with it all over again...

Hmm.. is there any way of typing a new message faster without going through the menu button? Before flashing to this new ROM, the left button is designated for "new" message. But now, it is designated for "delete" message. Any ideas?

Can anyone advise me on how to flash my Dopod 818Pro back to the original ROM? I've tried several cooked WM6 ROMs and I think I would want to revert back to the original Dopod 818Pro WM5 ROM. But, it can't be flashed back as it says the current ROM version is the latest. How arr?

just download and run the original ROM from dopodasia.com

I've tried, but it says, cannot upgrade from an updated .nbk version or something.

Is there any way of cheating the updater to read that my Dopod is currently using an older .nbk ROM?
