Yeah maybe I was being a little overboard there, that's right, for a start, don't exactly copy, just refer your favorite author or illustrator and move on from there.
To think about it, I did the same thing lol
Personally, for tutorials, I dont exactly follow it, only observing the process, and then apply it on my own.
Even seeing an expert's screenshot of something they are working on helps me in a way.
not really, the sword part he use my old concept which is his mistake. well this time i unite all concept into 1 piece so easier for him. also for me . but i need work twice amount of energy for that.
that is why the tip of the sword you see the missing stroke texture there
here is the new weapon part i just done and i had to make sure the accuracy for each part and tips is right.

well you try draw a flat sword and mirror it, then when you start configure the side view then you will know how hard it is.
Chillax, when the output looks that good, I don't think I have things to complain, the sword design is very cool.
Yeah, kinda. This section certainly got low exposure. Maybe I'll double posting in /k instead.

Nah, it's actually based on some obscure male model, from client's request.

Ah I see! Handsome man.
Actually I got a suggestion, for this section to be more productive, how about getting rid of this thread, and make the section as the thread, u get what Im saying? Create a thread about your new piece every now and then, but that too, I doubt will work. Haha
Nope, this is just a quick sketch, still trying to grasp shadow with heavy lineweight. The hair so hard one. I got ur point, creating specific thread for every artist in here or specific type of art will definitely add pageview, but not so much. I can only think about direct linking to section with more people, like in /k. Once in a while, there would be some thread discussing about value of their art, and sometimes funny sketch mashup for certain ppl in there. They have tons of viewer, but there are a lot of trolls unfortunately.
Well, I wish there's an active Malaysian art and design community of its own!
Moar work-in-progress. Although this one is polished enough that I can consider it "done" if I wanted to Not a character this time haha, it's a corporate VIP.

Wanted to ask. For newbie like me, any recomendation for a drawing pad? Preferably the newbie type instead of the advanced type. Learning progress and budget constrain. Hahahah~~
The new substitute of Bamboo Pen, Wacom Intuos Pen I think pretty good for newbie, cheapest Wacom tablet.
The only difference between the touch and without is just the touchpad right? Does it make a big difference when use?
Yeap, I think with touch, you can play around the canvas a little bit more comfortably, but most people rarely uses it, so better just buy without it. I never own a tablet, maybe some other fellas can give a cent or two about this.
I've heard they are trying to kickstart the site again. Might wanna look for the page. For now, I just randomly browse new art book released recently.
Really???? Source for that please, if that's true it will make my day!
I see, what's the website for that?

The CG Society Galleries have some pretty cool stuff. Most CGHub peeps have a gallery there too. It's quite well-organised and the standard of quality is very high.
Holy shit your stuff is featured! I'm jelly!
Most of my interest is on asian authored illustrations, and CGHUB grouped many artist from China and Korea that usually only display their stuff on personal blogs and their native art website, so CGHUB closing down is a big downer to me.
