Dear all web gurus here,

I have a problem with one of my domain (69.93.171.171), which until recently, I found out was blacklisted on SORBS for "spamming". Honestly I do not know what it means. Was it because of the hosting provider that I choose?

I've written to SORBS, waiting for their response. Also wrote to hosting provider 9esolution.com but they never answer (perhaps they are too aware of this "spamming" problem?)

I seek anyone's help here who has had experience in dealing with the blacklist and how to get delisted.

The spam record: http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ip4r.ch?ip=69.93.171.171
Also a good FAQ by SORBS about spamming: http://www.us.sorbs.net/faq/spamdb.shtml

You have to escalate this to your hosting provider. SORBS requires $50 payable to a charitable organization for removal. Not too big a problem - if they can't handle it, just change to another provider smile.gif

Wah, finally someone answered smile.gif Was afraid the question was too technical. I've never seen this problem before.

Already written to hosting provider, no reply! wKkaY, if I change to another hosting provider, will my website's IP address change? Hope so.

Also, how do I check the history of blacklist of the new provider? Everyone will claim their server is fast and reliable, BUT how about spamming?

Yes, most likely. Unless you happen to change to a webhost who resells service on the same server you're currently on smile.gif

Try searching for your prospective webhost on www.webhostingtalk.com for negative reviews.

You could also lookup their website's IP and check it against the blacklists; it's not foolproof but it's a start.

Thanks to a new hosting package offered by LYN forumer, I have switched my hosting, and assigned new IP address.

As of now, I noticed that my blacklist status is clear. Hope it will stay this way.

One more thing, my former hosting company http://www.9esolution.com has NEVER acknowledged that they have spamming problem! If you go to their website, they acted as if nothing is going on. My email to them regarding the banned IP problem fell to deaf ears.
