TS failed...

it onli stated up to 21mbps doesnt guarantee you get 21 mbps.. even if you call celcom they will tell you depend coverage area...

wireless broadband depend on the coversage status..

sommore onli 10gb.. not enough for 3 HD movie..

LOL

Saya guna Celcom3G data+voice... Tak la berapa laju sangat, tapi cukup la apa yang ada :, sekadar nak tengok YouTube dekat henpon atau melayari internet guna tablet 7" secara BT tethering masa dalam komuter.

Costly mistake - subscribed to this Celcom PortaWifi package and the PortaWifi works only for the first 20 mins. Then my pages hang and can' t load anymore. Stupid device. Took it back to Celcom and do you know what they tell me? "oh, you have to take it to Huawei service centers yourself. The warranty is from them". What kind of service is this? And the sales person did not tell me this when I enquired about the package. It was written in smaller print at the bottom of the receipt: "Please refer to Product Service Centre for warranty" which I did not notice or if I did, it'd be too late!
Sharing so that people don't get into the same stupid situation as I now find myself - bound by a 1 year contract with a device that does not work and the speed is only around 1.45Mbps on my DLink 3.75G router. mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

it's been 2 weeks since i've used the portawifi.

i don't know if it works for the first 20 mins or not (no mood to count the mins already); but problem loading the pages (yahoo, fb, any pages). always come up with the msg (server not found, web not available etc).

called celcom, troubleshoot (the auto-manual changes) but still the problem persists. now they've submitted a report for me, let's see what solutions they could come up with.

on top of that, the celcom mobile wifi page always replacing my current webpage. so i have to close the browser (tried firefox, chrome & ie same problem) and restart again... haiz...

Personal experience (For about 2 months now)

The Porta Wifi internet speed is fast (in fact one of the fastest I've ever used) but the connection is not stable. The connection suddenly drops for no reason which then needs to be rebooted (I'll just unplug and plug it back) & sometimes the device is downgraded from 3G network to a 2G network which is painfully slow.

Though I would recommend due to the speed, but if you are wanting a stable connection... then this is not for you.

I did know that celcom portawifi is up to 21mbps. Got one, provided by office, but rarely use it since my iphone hotspot more faster than it. Even youtube not loaded.

What is the distance that a device need to be to connect to this portawifi? Can the signal reach an entire let say a double story semi D house without having to use a 3g router?
