Hi
Recently I changed my Honda City tyres
Just wondering what is the recommended tyre pressure?

The tyre type is 185/55R16 83H
Reading from the car side panel it says:

Front: 220kPa(32Psi)
Rear: 210kPa(30Psi)

From the tyre it says maximum tyre pressure is 350kPa(51Psi)

I believe that the reading from the tyre is not correct because it shows the maximum pressure the tyre can hold.

But,the mechanic and some people says that Front(32Psi) and Rear (30Psi) is just for normal driving and for 1 driver and 1 passenger. If the car is full with passenger, they say I need to increase the tyre pressure.

Increase to how much?

Is it ok to just put 32Psi on all driving condition?(4 passengers, trunk full)

Or do I need to change the tyre pressure every time?

Pls advice.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks blush.gif

No need, just follow the manufacturer recommended.

If you always bring a lot people or full load, then can increase the air pressure a bit more.

Is it ok just to maintain 32psi on both tires?...

Will it cause uneven tread wear?

can also, but if you less driving with full load, your rear tyres will wear more on the middle.

Many cars generally recommend 35-36 psi at the rear usually for full load. Full load is full passenger at the back AND their luggage in the boot

why actually the car requires 32psi front and 30psi rear instead of both 32psi?

Another thing is,what does is means by over inflated? Is it more than recommended tyre pressure(32psi front and 30psi back) or more than max tyre pressure(51 psi)?

Could anybody explain about this? icon_question.gif

Thanks

Front: 220kPa(32Psi) Rear: 210kPa(30Psi) are almost the standard pressure for most of 14 -18" .
anything around 200kpa -240 kpa is fine for a daily ride. much depend on your car's load, road surface, tires' sizes and driving style.
but since the front always take much of the load, manufacturer always suggested higher pressure for the front tires.
supercars are an exception thou!

in the morning after you drive leisurely about 1km or so... not too cold and not too hot.
