Hi all,
I always browse through this forum but never commented cos what everyone contribute is very interesting already
Just to share, today i went to a PJ Seksyen 17 Shell station to redeem a RM120 receipt RON 95. Then the cashier told me that from now on, only pump 97 can buy any sets. Apparently the kiosks were called from the HQ yesterday at 4pm with this new term and condition, regardless of the date of receipt (mine was yesterday, did not redeem cos raining).
The reason being that Government or Kementerian set this ruling (please do not remove me, its not political, the cashier really told me like that

).
I am an ex-Shell employee and I do know that in order for Shell to do any business/operations in Malaysia, some percentage or joint-venture has to be agreed with Petronas. I am wondering whether this has something to do with that, since its kind of strange why Government can somehow be involved with a promotion between Shell, Ferrari, and Lego. Obviously nothing to do with taxes, if not the whole Lego promotion would be scrapped.
Thank god i have personally collect my portion and was redeeming for a friend. The cashier advised to keep the receipts and see if the ruling will change. Anyway this is really bad marketing implementation from Shell's part if they have yet to change the terms and condition in the website, or consistently inform ALL kiosks. I am sure all frequent readers will know that even to this day, there are different ways to redeem the Lego sets based on the kiosks' understanding (scalper's heaven, collector's hell). However, PJ kiosks are all very updated according to Shell HQ information (could be a good or bad thing, depending on what you are aiming for

)
Anyway, just my 2 cents...
