Hi guys! I went through V1 to the latest post of V4. Some very impressive Lego sets we have here biggrin.gif I'm a newbie, well honestly I just got back to Lego after a decade of absence.

I am into Lego modular buildings, anyone else her into modulars too? I've been creating some Lego sets of my own and will be showing it here if anyone is interested. Cheers and Selamat Hari Raya to all Muslim friends smile.gif

@Vey99: Yea, I'm buying all of the modulars as we speak before their prices skyrocket. So much cheaper in U.S.

Just arrived:

I bought them MISB, spent half a day building these two. Very tiring but a lot of fun biggrin.gif

@panjaang16: Glad to see another modular collector. I bought Town Hall and Petshop as a set from an online seller but both are stuck in Malaysian customs since 27/07. No news as of yet... My CC is stuck in Australian customs because seller failed to disclose amount... But yeah, better to get them now and live poorer than regret not getting them when they go +300 dollars.

@Gizzi69: I got it from a guy in Australia. He needed money for his Phd so he decided to let go all of his sets. He had a lot of sets for sale but I went late. I got it for about AUD$150 (shipping was ~20 dollars i think) which I thought was an absolute steal biggrin.gif

@kenhew: I got CC (MISB) for about AUD$700 from a Garage Sale. It's expensive but I bought it anyway cause market price for the set is about 2.5 times what I paid. You can still find some on Bricklink (one was going for ~USD$1400 MISB but box damaged)

@vey99: I know how it feels. I bought about 2.6k bricks through Lego.com and BL totalling about USD$600 to build my MOC. Lego.com was cheaper for me but a lot of parts are not listed at all. Toys-U-Want on bricklink offers a lot of sets at affordable prices.

@tribalsun: Thank you biggrin.gif I saved up some money doing my internship. If you want you could start with the more recent ones since they are affordable.

@Gizzi69: It was from a Garage sale in Melbourne, had my friend check it out and buy them for me. I bought 5770 (Lighthouse Island), 7347 (Highway Pickup), 5771 (Hillside House) and 7346 (Seaside House) all for < AUD$300 shipping included.

@Gizzi69: I bought them online.

Based on past experiences customs will stop anything labelled "Lego" in a big parcel (if your parcel gets chosen for random inspection). I was charged about RM100 for a RM500 Lego set.

Having said that it's mostly luck because your parcel might or might not get stopped for inspection by customs. The tax chargeable depends on the valuation the customs estimate your parcel to be. The price on your shipping receipt is just a reference in most cases.

If you want to be totally safe then I'd recommend courier services. But if you use courier services then you could be better off buying it in Malaysia.

@musha: Thanks! I designed and built it myself. The orders took over a month to arrive and some parts are still missing. Felt like the modulars scene was missing some Asian architecture.

@musha: I'm designing a rotating restaurant/observation tower now on LDD but it is so time consuming. I would love to see your rendition of the Apple store though if you do build one smile.gif

@3AAA: Thanks! I ordered the parts from Bricklink. Wasn't easy to keep track of the bricks I ordered so I ended up with loads of spares and loads of missing pieces.

@touya_zell: Thank you! And VERY sharp eyes. Those are some of the many parts I missed out on ordering sweat.gif . Will be completed within the month once the orders reach. I've got a bin at the back too but I totally forgot to order the parts as well.

@alanyuppie: It means a lot coming from you. I love your MOCs, most creative and interactive sets I've come across so far!

@akuning: I got the bricks from Bricklink and Lego. Looking forward to see yours smile.gif

I'll have the interior shots up within this week. Thanks for all the compliments and comments guys! I appreciate it biggrin.gif

@Chaud: I had 30 orders overall, shipping was about 20% of my total cost because once I get past the bulk ones, the specialty parts get very difficult to find. The "whiskers" on the lobster cost me EUR 5 per piece without shipping.

@vey99: This looks very nice, love the details such as the wooden cart and outhouse thumbup.gif It'll be nice if you could have a row of them together (like the 16x64 you mentioned) and maybe build some of the transport vehicles in the era.
