Hi all.. I'm looking to buy an audiophile earphone.

Budget rm300-800

Can recommend? Looking for best value for price.

Right now I'm considering UE triple fi 10 used unit which I saw in garage sell for rm500-600. Is it worth to buy?

This will be my very first high end audiophile gear, thus I'm a bit sked to invest. Thinking to have an experience on an audiophile earphone first, see if for I'm gonna like it or not

Thanks

HI situs,

I'm new to audiophile gear, i need some advise.

i just bought UE TF10, second hand, my first gear to try on. the sound is crisp, very good soundstage. worth the money...but..

the sound profile is not ultimately what i'm looking for.. for me its a bit "flat" sound overall, eventho everything is well balanced.

i want some more "punch", maybe a bit more bass, but not too much.. i listen to metal and rock the most, and also instrumental guitar and piano.

can recommend other IEM for me?

any advise will be very much appreciated. thanks in advance.

Impulsively bought Allessandro MS1i... lol.. i tought its quite cheap, so i just bought for a try..

but the sound is very rockable. i like.. mids are very approaching, decent amount of bass, and good pick up on highs.. i think the sound sig is just suitable for rock and acoustic music... but i yet to try higher end headphone, will they be significantly/ hugely better than this? such as Beyer DT880? very interested to mod this headphone, especially change to pad and recable, i want it to be one side detachable. does anybody knows who can do recable for MS1i?

But Beyer DT880 really tempts me at the moment

Can you give more description on the SQ of ms1i? im interested in one
*
at that price, i think the SQ is worth every penny. and i think burn in is quite necessary for this headphone, after i left it played with my ipod for about 12 hours direct at 50-60% volume, i sense the sound is more yummy. laugh.gif

this is definitely not for basshead. the bass are adequate and enjoyable, no it will not shake your eardrum tho (i wouldn't want that, bad for your ear.. lol). the main strength is the mids and clarity. also good pick up on treble/highs. warm sound. when play rock song, it sound very rock. biggrin.gif on acoustic song, guitars sound very nice and detail. i drive this using Govibe Martini+.

sorry i'm not good in describing sound, but if your genre is rock and alternative, this might be right for you. hope this help.

- Budget: rm100 - rm200
- Headphone/ earphone type: IEM
- Other requirements (if any):
prefer the one with mic,or is there any differences between the one with  with mic or without it....currently i'm using meelectronics ht21headphone, and happy with it, and i need IEM, to use while working.. happy.gif

budget is quite narrow.. if not, get a second hand Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10 for RM500, it will blow your mind when listen to rock/metal song. brows.gif check in garage sell, a few selling.

Allesandro MS2i vs. Grado SR225i vs. Grado SR325is

i have a thought of the above headphones.. well Allesandro series are also from Grado lab. in term of sound signature, is allesandro similar with the grados? and in term of SQ, are the three above comparable? well of course i bet the SR325is should be better than SR225i, but how much different are they? and MS2i vs SR325is?

as i own a MS1i, so if the MS2i sound signature is similar, thus it should be balance, forward mids, warm and good for rock and classic. is MS2i similar then? i bet better in SQ?

Any Grado lovers here can comment?

asking this because want to upgrade from MS1i.. i love the MS1i for the sound and design, thus i want moarr! tongue.gif

i know what i'm asking maybe a lil too much , but is there any closed/semi open/portable-ish headphone that have the grado sound ? i really2 love my ms1i but i cant take it to the bus or anything. person beside me will automatically headbang listening to my songs. anything come close to the grado sound with those sweet mids and highs ?
*
i know how you feel bro.. me too...

loving the alessandro series.. wish i can bring to office to wear during work, but i might get other ppl can't working with my music. LOL.. other than it can't isolate sound, the cable also too long for portable usage, but this be overcome by recabling i guess..

if you ask me, besides grados, i would go for Beyerdynamics

What is the BEST top tier headphone for ROCK? if budget is not the limit. brows.gif

LCD3/LCD2 vs. HD800 vs. T1 vs. HE-6 or any other that i don't know?

why i specifically mentioned for rock? because i need "that" guitar and drum sound, like the one on my MS2i.. i tried other headphone within the MS2i tiers, none can produce such sound...

is it still Grados flagship best for rock? hmm.gif

Any recommendation for replacement of Alessandro MS1i? I really like it but the problem is that it's not very comfortable to wear for long hours sad.gifsad.gifsad.gif

so I would like to ask, is there any headphones similar to the ms1i but more comfortable to wear for long hours?
*
i guess your solution is to buy a different pad for your MS1i.. so far, i found none other headphone having similar sound as the grados/alessandros, at least for the price range.

but i dont find comfort issue too much when wearing my MS2i, i can wear it until i'm done listening. brows.gif

Not neccesarily must be same price range. I'm ready to hear recommendations. As long as its almost the same and its comfortable.
Any headphone u can recommend.

As long as not more expensive than HD650 Senn lol.

But the signature should be similar to ms1i AND comfortable for long hours.
*
as i said, i couldn't find any headphone with similar sound signature as Grados/Allessandros..

but if you are looking for headphone with forward mids and detail, maybe can try the Shure SRH840. its a close cans tho.. if you are looking for more fun and musical sounding, go to the Beyers i guess, DT880 perhaps, but kinda hard to drive.

but, dude, if you ask me, Alessandro MS1i/MS2i is one of a kind, awesome for rock, i will still keep it and get another headphone for comfortable usage.. smile.gif
