Repost from previous thread.

My Rig: Ipod / Iphone
- Type of usage: Music
- File format: mp3
- Music genre: all, but mostly trance / house / edm
- Budget: 100 to 300
- Headphone/ earphone type: earphone, prefer in ear
- Other requirements (if any): prefer to have something with extra bass kick.

Currently, my options are JVC HA-FX101, JVC HA-FX40, AiAiAi Pipes, A-Jays Three... Any other options????

Thank you for your advise!
*
Go go JVC FXD80!

1. They let you test
2. They assure you that is genuine
3. They provide good warranty service, they have a shop, they won't run away
4. If you can nego with them, they might offer you great bundle

If these reasons are not important to you, go for the other seller that you mentioned in previous post. smile.gif

Saw a guy while in Singapore, hooked up his M50 black in the Marina Bay shopping mall.

I was thinking, probably someone would hang his LCD or Senn 650 and walking around the mall too! Don't forget, it's like wearing a gold necklace. Haha tongue.gif

Can try the new Beyerdynamic XP series (3 flavors to choose from), or Shure SE215.
That's what I've personally audited before.

What I've experienced before:
Audio Technica M-50. Good bass response. V-shaped Frequency curve to my ears. Great for rock. Okay for vocals.
Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro: Customize-able bass response. Hard hitting bass. May be bloated if switched to gear 4.

I personally dont like the appearance of dr150 haha. Btw, ms1i is more to mid and high frequency right? Do they leak a lot?
*
Dr150 feels plastic, TBH. Well, ms1i leaks? .... if u mean, leak sounds into/from the surrounding, it's perfectly open, so yeah.

Jaben carries them. Gr02 is sub 200. GR06 is sub 300. Both I tried personally and happy with the smoothness and versatility.
Warning: May not provide the KICK you want, but sounds natural and balanced across the frequencies.

Any good headphones about RM200? Specifically for music, i was looking at the beyer DT231 or Sennheiser hd408 or audio technica ad300? Re they good? Any good suggestions?
*
I own DT231 before. Comfortable cushion but my ears too big, become pain in long hours. Other users don't experience my problem. SQ wise, top notch. Nothing to complain about for that headphone. All rounder.

AD300 = Comfort. Wide earcup.

- iPod Classic >FiiO L9> looking for a headphone portable amplifier as well, currently considering the upcoming FiiO E12 or E17
- Strictly music
- Any format will do as long as they are not Justin Bieber songs
- Everything except Metal songs and Justin Bieber songs
- Over-ear
- I do not want any colouration, I want songs to be played as much neutral as possible
- Around Rm2000/400GBP as I am in UK now

There are too many headphones out there for me to choose within this price range. I am currently eyeing on AKG Q701 & K701/2, Sennheiser HD600/650, Beyerdynamic T70 & DT990, HiFiMAN HE-400 and many others

or you can just recommend me the source (i didnt buy ipod yet), the dac/amp and the headphone combination around rm3000
*
T70.... very treble happy. Detail wise obamanotbad.jpg. Really excels with quality recordings. Try it before decide. I happy. but now want sell half price liao. Or go T90 maybe? The open can.

HD650 warm n bassy. HD600 much less warm, a tad more neutral than HD650.

The rest i never listened before so i try not to comment.

U can try... AKG K550? Or maybe Grado PS500?

i cant try them here so i can only depend on you guys' opinion and buy it online. i dont trust those reviews on the website because most of them are endorsed so opinions might be biased.
i already have akg k450, shure se215 and denon ahnc600 for my portable setup. i just want an open back headphone now. cool.gif
*
TBH, i'm more of a rock person. Until lately starting to listen to slower songs like jazz. just so u know what my flavors will be.

And also, open back meaning you wanna build a full desktop setup?

yep but im currently in university, i will only go back to malaysia next year. so now i will just use ipod+amp as my source. besides, that is much cooler than people who wear beats on the street. drool.gif
*
err... bro, i lost u. so u r looking for a home setup or on-the-go? Because open back ones are less ideal for outside use. i think u know right? Haha.

both home use and portable, but of course i won't use them on a bus or in the library because that would disturb people. and also, i dont see any fault of using open back cans in the public but everyone should use them instead of iem and close back cans because of safety reasons. there were already several times that i almost got hit by a car when i was crossing the road. icon_rolleyes.gif

btw, there were already 47 people who was involved in accidents in 2010-2011 and 70% of them died  because they were using headphones. http://www.livescience.com/17995-accidents...nfographic.html
*
I mean, for SQ wise it's not advisable to use open can (my opinion), because since sound will leak, which means either you'll have to crank up your volume or micro details could be lost.

That's what I think la.

Hang mau neutral? But to my ears TF10 isn't neutral.
Well, if neutral = GR07 mk2 Review is here
If want some bass = Yamaha EPH-100 (slightly dark). Users' impressions
Or maybe, JVC Ha-FXZ 100/200. Review at the back of the thread

noobandroid's suggestion +1.
House signature, and better. Albeit it's woody, so may be warmer. Closed cans signature btw.

Last time still can suggest Denon AH-D2k. Now cannot liao. Haha.

Bro, do try out Audio Technica M50, Audio Technica ATH Pro 700 Mk2 or Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro. All are good in bass. Custom One Pro even comes with adjustable bass level. You can choose the bass level you like.

Closed back is ideal for monitoring.
If open back I'd go Akg K240.
