Looking for both an headphone and an earphone,
- Your rig: note II, pc
- What type of usage: Music
- File format used in your source: mp3
- Genre of music you listen to: rock, alternative, jazz, house
- Headphone/ earphone type: as long its not IEM
- Other requirements: comfortable (does not heat up after long use) and durable (preferably last for many years perhaps?)

Budge is under 200 for headphone and below 100 for earphone
*
I tried some pairs of Koss Ksc75 last night, impressive with good bass response, you can recabled it,I can introduce you a good guy to do the recable if you want. Rm88 for the koss oly, jjjkj is selling them. Recable take maybe Rm60,it is good to go with your budget.

My Rig: laptop/mp3
- Type of usage: Music
- File format: mp3
- Music genre: all,
- Budget: below RM100
- Headphone/ earphone type: in ear
- Other requirements (if any): I'm looking for a durable earphone that last for 2 yrs plus. i don't mind the sound quality.

I've broken 3 earphone for the past few months and i need your advice. Thanks.

is this earphone good? http://www.groupon.my/deals/national-deal/...353&a=715827970
*
That should be a good bud,not sure about the durability though(I might review this bud in future),if break earphone too often,it might be your using style problem.

Rm69 is steal,I recommended that for you, should be better than those budget earphone.

curious, can we recabled our normal cheap earphones? since i tend to break them/putuskan alot and often, and its the wires inside those cables that usually snags off...everything looks nice and new  doh.gif
*
Yes,practically we can,but not recommended anyway, cable is a bit pricey consider to the price ratio of new headphone.

But Koss ksc75 should be durable enough, except the earpad will tend to break after some period.

want to ask all the sifus which is the best between grado sr80i or sr60i, audio technica ath m-35 and sennheiser hd280.

music is my main priority followed by movie.
music, i mostly listen to music like bruno mars and some rock band.
or any other headphone that i should check between these four?
*
Grado, well known for their thick sound and thick bass that excel in movie, also doing great with Rock(if not the best)

I have been using the Philips HP890 for about 10 years now. In fact that was the first item I bought through lowyat forum at RM160. Then the arm broke between the silver ring and the body above. I tried superglue, and duck tape-did not work. Superglue does work at all while with duck tape does work, but the joints slowly loosen and now the right cup does not even cover my ears now. If someone knows how to fix this, I'd gladly try anything.

Can someone recommend me a similar headphones as the HP890? I like the velvet cushions used on this. I think the Audio-Technica ATH 700 comes to mind. I don't mind those faux leather material, but I don't like a sweaty headphone if I'm going to use it for 2-3 hours. The HP890 actually sound quite good. It may be slightly heavy but once you wear them, you forget they are on and immerse in the sound.

Can anyone recommend me a replacement for the HP890. I don't mind splashing up to $200 but the phones will be my only over ear phones. I already have a pair of Sony in-ears for travel. Usage is mainly for music and is mostly attached to the home desktop.

Thank you
*
Hi,

$200 is in usd or rm?

If it is in rm,not much that can be recommended, but I will recommended you sennheiser HD202ii and some Superlux model,AKG has some entry model that should be doing great as well, particularly their k402,but if full size headphone is your top priority, considered superlux model

There is a guy who is selling it in lowyat.net,gshoppe85,the price is reasonable as well.

Besides, you can consider Shure SRH440 and SE215 as well...

what do u think about beyerdynamic custom 1 pro??
*
It is actually a good headphone, and one of my audio buddy like custom one pro very much. For me the bass of it is punchy and big body but a bit loose, find some amp with bass boost function and you are good to go (For extreme bass).

Ok, I'll go into details then  smile.gif
I need two pairs of headphones to replace my 10-year old Philips HP890 and a normal sony MDR earphones (not IEM).  Looking for something exactly like the 890 (or maybe another 890 if possible). Things I want from the new headphone are:

1. closed with good sound isolation. Will be using this in the house and don't want to disturb everyone else in the house.
2. Over-ear- I think over-ear is comfortable and has no sound leakage? Correct me if I'm wrong.
3. Must be very comfortable and not sweat.
4. Priced $200/£150/RM500-600? or around there max. Cheaper better
5. Must be able to handle wide range of music from classical to pop and also games.
6. Microphone unnecessary. I don't play online shooters though I do appreciate bass.

Next, I need a pair of earphone/headphone to use at work. I currently have a pair of Sony MDREX310LPB IEM. They have acceptable sound quality. However as they are IEM's they provide good isolation. I need to be able to hear background noise, though I don't want people to hear my music. I am able to do that now with some cheap sony earphones. Sound quality on those are not great but as I don't turn the volume on loud. I am able to hear the music and background noise if needed. Max price of this is around £50/$70. Cheaper is better. They too have to be comfortable, though unlike the headpones, I will not have them on 3 hours straight. This one does not have to be expensive, since I'll be placing them at the office anyway.

Music I listen to include works from but not limited to:
pop, pop rock (jap artist: Y..)
Baroque pop, Contemporary classical music, World music (Jap composer Y.K.)
Orchestra music

Sound has to be neutral or slightly warm. Bass must be there but also be neutral. I am not a fan of beats audio. With my cheap sony MDR earphones, I can't hear lows, well I can hear something, but it does not reproduce well. Currently I hook my PC to either a Creative Gigaworks T20 SII or my Panasonic SA-PM11 stereo. The Sony MDREX310LPB IEM's have a warm signature. I can hear lows and mids well, however I noticed that I need to increase the treble at the high end depending on sound source just to hear proper sound reproduction. The Gigaworks and Panasonic have neutral sound, though with the Hi-Fi, too neutral that I have to turn on the eq setting but on flat setting just to get more punch.

BTW, both need to work well without an amp.

Headphones I have looked at but not heard include:
Sopny Mdr-V6
Skullcandy Aviator
Creative Aurvana Live!
Audio Technica ATH- M50
Sennheiser HD558 (not sure how much sound leaking this is)
SounMAGIC HP100
Cresyn C720H
Audio-Technica ATH AD700 (not sure how much sound leaking)
Philips Citiscape Uptown
Philips Citiscape Downtown
*
Wao...very detailed!

For me,I think Soundmagic HP100 is the best for you,but they are really difficult to find in Malaysia.

Personally I owned a Creative Aurvana Live!,sound quality is very good, bass wise,it is there but not in really refine quality, but it is enjoyable.

Short say,I can say (Although I never listened to Philips 890),CAL! should be better, come from open back, anything in 'closed sound' should be avoid, but CAL! is different kind as it provide some good and spacious sound, soundstage is good as well, and the TONING OF SOUND is real great,I can't find in other headphone.

Good piece of headphone that I sincerely recommended to you.

ahh sorry tongue.gif im gonna use the earphone during work out, jogging etc. so maybe fast, songs that you listen in the club lol. abt budget, 200 tops. smile.gif

Seems like your music need to handle a lot of bass, dor the budget, I will suggest NuForce NE-600, bass is thumping while other frequency is still okay.

But if you are really need to use it at gym or while jogging, I doubt anything can challenge the Sony W262 or W273(Have not released in Malaysia), the convenience is unbeatable.

If this is original one and just RM500, buy it straight away, super comfortable and midrange centric sound, I would say the sound is quite good and definitely worth RM500, Retail is RM900-1000. Mind to pm me where you get for RM500?
