- Genre of music you listen to - basically almost everything! i would like a headphone that has a balanced of Bass and also Clarity. not like those beats that i have, overpowered BASS, and i do not want something like the ad700, no bass but clarity. so yea.
- Headphone/ earphone type - to be honest, im not sure how to describe it, i do not want a headphone cup that is constantly On my ear, i would want something like the QC15/ logitech g35, the cups dont touch my ear.. im not sure how to describr it sorry
- Other requirements (if any)- nothing.
Anyways i've did alot of research, i found the AT- m50. but im afraid of the hedphone type.. will it suit me?
Oh yea and i do not want a headphone that requires an amp to perform well like the sennheiser hd 5xx series.. so yea. i want a headphone that can perform well w/o amp, i use it at home mostly btw. i have about Rm500 budget. if its worth the extra i might increase. NOT more than 1k.

Hello guys sorry to bother u guys again, as i did my reseach AGAIN, and this would also be my last research b4 i do my purchase... but certainly i would go to test the headphones out.

I've been doing researches about headphones the whole week! about 6 hours a week or more than that!! so basically, I DO NOT WANT an amp with me while i use the headphones, as i find the amp a little bit trouble some and its like there's alot of 'electrostatic' around u which i dont like that nor do my parents. so i found that the M50 are SUPERB w/o amps.

i also've been doing my research about the Sennheisers. the compliment by the users was so much that it overtake the cons of the sennheisers cans.. so i end up considering these:

I basically listen to almost every music genre.. sometimes im in the mood i would go for K-POP, sometimes rock, sometimes a new catchy-pop song made its debut and i would probably listen to it.. techno probably only Skrillex.... and sometimes i'd also listen to John Mayer/Joseph Vincent ( yes he;s youtube star) But the problem with ME is that when i buy headphones and the headphones do not provide bass ( like the ATH700) i would feel the headphones are a waste.. lol its just me i guess.. BUT i would'nt also want the headphones to be OVERPOWERED by bass.. i sometimes listen to John Mayer ( country) so i would want Clarity, so i could hear him sing as if im in front of him.. ya know what i mean..

but the Americans that bought M50 between 100~130$ = RM390 MAX said that its worth to get the M50 cuz of the PRICE. but u see in Malaysia/HK its a diff story( my fren is going to HK so he could probably get the M50 for about RM494-500), its probably alot more expensive. so if the M50 were to be Rm500 for the americans i bet they would'nt get those cans.. so yea im having quite a hard time now

anyways besides those i've also considered the DT 770 pro from Beyerdynamics. as i've mentioned I WOULDNT be using an AMP. so will the 770 sound better than M50/ all of the sennheisers i've mentioned above?. its pricey tho i can get it for RM730 ( DAYUMM ) so yea..

and at last, how about these SONY headphones?

Oh but the 770 pro will cost me rm700+! For a new set while the m50 will cost me about rm500+ for a new set. Whatabout sennheiser 558hd?

Hey guys!!anyways i've been asking around in the head-fi forum, and i've probably narrowed down my decision to
Sennheisers headphones .. as the m50 sound stage is terrible and the earcups are too small for me.. probably i would feel the earcups pressing my ears which i HATE it! i've actually also considered Beyerdynamics the 770 pros but i feel liek that it;s too heavy for me the looks and too big ( teh ear cups) so im now currently settling down with
Sennheiser 650HD
Sennheiser 600 HD
Sennheiser 558 HD
i usually listen to basically almost every music genre! a rough scale of what i listen to: Kpop( 20%), Country/Sentimental music john mayer and such( 35%), pop songs ( payphone, call me maybe or some pop songs, 30%), techno( 10%).. so yea..

hey, im very sorry for it! hmm i guess i will still need to do my research.... but from what i've found yesturday, that the senn 650/600HD WOULD not sound superb right out of the box, they sound even worse than those 30$headphones. but if you buy an amp, those 600/650HD would be SUPERBBB!! now im considering Byerdynamics 770/880/990 too! and also M50 Audio technica ( but i'll just do my research now and when i narrowed down to what i need i'll ask for help here, thank you for assisting me anyways)

hi guys thanks for the replies! but im not sure why, everytime when i do researches about other headphones (sennheires,eyerdynamics,akg) i would end up missing the M50 its like my heart is telling me to get those! when i see a thread/post about M50 i get really excited .

the 598 looks a little ugly ( no offence guys) but i would definitely pay those a visit. thanks;

hmm so i guess i would step out from sennheisers. as the 650/600 are too big for me, so the comfortability ruined it, so its pointless...


hmm but im not sure my heart is telling me to go get the M50. but i've read more and more reviews/appreaciation thread about the M50 and it seems like that it has more bad reviews about comfortability ... so arghh!!!.. and now im currently want to get either Beyer 770/880 or the M50.

the dt 770 pros and 880 dt i only can get it (32Ω,250Ω,600Ω) and the limited edition's 770 pro i can get only 32Ω.


I personally felt that the design of the dt 770/880 are abit ugly ( no offence man, i prefer the M50 design the most) but if they are worth it( based on the price i stated) i would probably grab it over the M50/hifiman/ultrasone.

As i've said, i do want 50%bass and also 50%clarity. and also would like to feel 'natural' towards the sound.. i hope to feel like that the music is coming towards me 360degree, as if im in a concert but only me at the concert (LOL!). I would not want to feel that i've been reminded that i have my headphones on ( so its like a typical 2 sound coming from ur left earpads and also right earpads).. so yea... ( and i cant get Fiio in hongkong.. or is there any shops i can get it from? cant seem to find it in Jaben)

I appreaciate every1's recommendation, i went to tried the DT770/anivessary/880 pro and 770pro/custom1 pro, they were UNCOMFORTABLE for me.. and the most comfortable headphones for me were the qc15 bose n the sennheiser 598. and i got the 598. so far loving it :-) especially in acoustic music. the bass is alright.
