If HD 598 you will need a decent DAC and amp, if not it will turn out like crap.

Tried direct output from laptop, tablet, iPod Touch with my HD 595 without DAC and amp, it sucks.

I spent RM60 on some panasonic earphone = bass sucks.

i think goldring might be a good choice. their sound more toward accoustic and warm

Yes I guess eggy is right. I have no experience with pro5mk2 but I do own a Goldring DR150. After a few days of usage and switching to my JVC HA-S500, it felt like the bass is too much.
I would recommend the Goldring too.

Well...for a short intro about the drvero ....
The drvero works well with acoustic songs or instrumental...since the can has a very precise separation or I mean transparency...but when it comes to pop songs like maroon 5.....( one of my favorite band ) the songs will. be focus more on the instrumental part rather than the backstage singer or the singers' themselves.....

For that case I had chosen the fa006 ( recommanded by wilzc.....sorry if I spell it wrongly....hehe....) the bass is more on it....it has the grados sr60 or even 80's potential.....but with more bass.....accurate bass....quite an all rounder to me.....I played some instrumental songs like yiruma's river flows in you...( piano track... ) every key on the of the piano is separated quite well done....but this can has less transparency.... for your infomation.....

Well....since everyone has their own taste in music.....so its like what music will suit your liking...pop...acoustic...instrumental...or even metals...and more.....every can have their own potential on different genres ....

i went to jaben try pro5mk2, i like it but a little bit more bass, and i try M30 at low yat, very nice too.
