QUOTE(noobandroid @ Oct 22 2012, 03:15 AM) laptop as source, but need to get an external dac and a powerful amp, then you can think of some headphones to start, if directly take a headphone and into the laptop audio jack, you are going to have a bad time Hmm okay, is external DAC enough or do I need an amp as well?

QUOTE(jackyyong @ Oct 22 2012, 11:11 AM) * sigh * can portability and sound quality come in a same package? I travel to work in LRT, so I prefer something like wrap-around or clip-on headphones. I do not like IEMs, coz of hygiene and comfort issues. I already have a pair of Fanny Wang, they sound really good, but they are too big, so it is banished in the store room. (What a waste huh?) I have a pair of Koss Porta Pro, they are really good, but they are very uncomfortable especially after the foam paddings are worn off. Any good suggestions? I think open back type will suit your current circumstance .....like ms1I or even grado series.....look for jaben for expert advice....theu are willing to serve you anytime Added on October 22, 2012, 10:43 pmQUOTE(Nakedskin @ Oct 22 2012, 03:41 PM) -rig :mp3 players and laptop audio jack -What type of usage :Gaming(dota2 cod, bf3) and watching movies ,music - File format used in your source :mp3 - Genre:mix but more to songs with bass - Headphone:comfortable(3+hours usage) and sound isolated - Other requirements: RM150 max. currently thinking of either ifrogz dj style ronnin or superlux hd330. but need recommendation. Get the superlux ..... This post has been edited by nicholostan: Oct 22 2012, 10:43 PM

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Oct 23 2012, 07:38 PM) wonder where i can get to audition the new logitech UE6000 and also AiAiAi TMA-1 Beatport edition Sound wise, there is no difference between the Beatport edition with the standard TMA-1. You can audition the legendary AiAiAi TMA-1 at the following stores: off Jalan Imbi: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Excessive-Records/153490018933LowYar Plaza: http://www.facebook.com/tlcmySubang: http://www.facebook.com/JabenMYJaya One: http://www.facebook.com/wowloud This post has been edited by E1 - AKG: Oct 23 2012, 09:55 PM

QUOTE(Fawkes @ Oct 22 2012, 04:13 PM) Hmm okay, is external DAC enough or do I need an amp as well? Get a dac ....if you are satisfy with the sound...then go with amp.... But the most important thing is the source and the headphone...weather it suits the genre of music which you are listening to or not....that's why people keep. on purchasing these things .....to upgrade ..... Its a cycle in audio.... Tube amp....hybrid amp...headphone amp...and more.... There are much to learn also though....

Eg: changing songs and volume from the button.
