- rig- Desktop and Xperia Ray
- usage- Movie 30%, gaming 20%, music 50%
- File format- common one
- Genre of music- Sometimes love song, sometimes bassy song
- earphone type (Not sure, something like Beats Solo, Closed type?)
- Other requirements- Sound insulation!
Ideal budget - Around RM200 if possible, but if RM300 also ok provided it is much more superior than the RM200 one.  wink.gif
My friend have a Beats Solo, it impress me cause of the clarity, bass and insulation. But this is the only expensive earphone i have used before, so i don't know much about a good earphone, im not an audiophiles lol. Right now im looking for an affordable while providing similar experience like what Beats Solo carries.
I read some reviews about AKG K430 and it looks not bad and price are around RM3xx which is much much cheaper than Beats. Is K430 good? My main point is good insulation since im not a hardcore audiophiles.

Preferable, tight/impactfull(?) bass, and warmth sounding
. Will be using it with Sansa Clip+ .....If possible, the cable is short at 1 for L and long for R (dunno how to call it) ...so that it dont easily drop and comfy for small ear holes/lobes.

Price Range : rm200-350

Your rig (mp3 players, amps, sound card etc) Laptop
What type of usage (movies/ gaming/ music etc) Music listening only
File format used in your source (i.e. flac, mp3 etc) MP3
Genre of music you listen to (classical, jazz, metal, etc) Primary Rock and Chillout music. I don't care for Rap/RnB/Indie crap.
Headphone/ earphone type (closed, open, circumaural, IEM etc) Headphone. Preferably full-sized.
Other requirements (if any) (mic, volume control, 5.1ch, 7.1ch etc) I like clean clear sounds. Some bass should be present, though more is always better. If it is of any help, I do like DT770Pro.

I have a total budget of RM500. That includes an amp or DAC+amp combo if it calls for it. If I can find a headphone that works well unamped through a laptop, it'll get the full dough.

Currently looking at Superlux HD688B/HDHD681 and Fiio E10.

Bass + Full-size + Budget RM500 headphones:

[+] Audio-Technica ATH-XS5 / ATH-XS7 (Street style + Bass + Detail)
[+] Audio-Technica ATH-A500X (Rich bass + Detail + Closed-back + Superior comfort)

Has low impedance, dont really need amp to drive it

ATH-WS77 build for bass lover while maintaining the detail of sound meanwhile ATH-ES500 has balanced sound quality between its bass and clarity with stylish design (unique aluminum casing design)

ATH-ES500 was on-ear headphones while ATH-ES700 was over-ear headphones with better frequency response than ATH-ES500

Hi guys, this would be my 1st "expensive" headphones purchase. Initially I was dead set on getting ATH M50 after reading all the recommendations online. After testing it for awhile, I realised I like the sound, but it made me sweat after 10 minutes! I'm guessing its because it is closed back.

I then proceeded to test a Goldring DR150 and it was super comfortable for me and didn't make me sweat at all (probably due to them being open back). The sound was quite ok as well though the "kick" of the bass is slightly lacking to my untrained ears.

So I'm here now to get some recommendations from the pros. At the same price I could get an ATH AD700. Which one of these would you guys recommend? I'm also open to other recommendations. Below are some extra info. Hope to hear from you guys soon and thanks alot in advanced!

My Rig: Ipad2
- Type of usage: Music (60%), Movies (20%), Games (20%)
- File format: MP3, FLAC, WMA
- Music genre: Pop, Rock, Alternative, Rap, OST
- Budget: RM500 plus minus

Hi all, need some advice on the above topic... I'm looking for a light pair of supra aural headphones and I have boiled down my decision to these two (circa RM200)

I have a-jays one IEM and I absolutely love them and have tried the V-jays before and also find them to be excellent...
On the other hand, I have read countless reviews of the classic PortaPro but have never sampled them...

So which do u think is better, I mainly use them around the house or sometimes when I'm out... I listen to mostly rock, dance and ambient music...
*
Between those 2 model, I recommend KOSS PortaPro for its detail and unique design. If you more prefer bass response then get yourself V-Jays headphones.

Hey guys , i currently use a FISCHER AUDIO Eterna Rev.1 IEM and  Audio Technica ATH700ProMKii

reason for changing it decided to disassemble itself, due to the glue used in manufacturing that was horrible it's now in a weird form sleep.gif

i want something with decent clarity when it comes to instrumental music and yet gives a solid and tight bass punch

- MacBookPro / iPhone / Pioneer DJ Mixer
- Listening music / movies / DJ-ing ( when i feel lazy to use my Audio Technica ATH700ProMKii )
- everything
- EDM ( electronic dance music )
- IEM

Price range 200-300

a review for the IEMs recommended would be appreciated too biggrin.gif

Thanks in advance
