ryanlee 1.6SX White 6 Speed..
btw..few questions..

1) full tank Rm 85 - total mileage only hits 410km.. = Normal ??
2) radio reception is poor and not stable = any1 experience the same thing?

My 2.0SX, after driving 398km, pump in RM 90 petrol (RON 95). That's about 11.9L/100KM. Not yet 1st service. Hopefully after 1st service will be better.

WOW BRO YOUR 2.0 REALLY GOOD TO U..MINE NOT SO GD FC LE...BUT MINE 90% CITY & 10% GO UP & DOWN HILL...MINE BOUT 300KM + (50KM IN DTE) FOR RM80-85....
*
11.9L/100KM where got good. My old Wira 1.5 no EFI also can get 10.xL/100KM. I'm hoping to get better than that.

Right now still driving around 100kmh and have not rev up to 4000rpm. Mostly driving to/fro work using NKVE. Dunno whether consider highway or not coz NKVE damn jam in the morning and evening.

BTW anyone can tell me which Service Centre better - Glenmarie or Red Cube Jln 225? Planning to do my 1st service soon and this two seem the nearest.

QUOTE(dvinez @ Aug 9 2012, 01:44 PM)
1) nothing much to do about it, does it happen in hot weather? if yes, it is due to plastic expanding when you on the air-cond, quite common problem for some car, eg: altis. i tried stick some pad into the plastic gap, improved a lot but cannot be eliminated. or just let sc operate it.

5) yup, quite noisy and the rubber feel hard. i changed to continental mc5 recently, which is entry tyre only, but at least 30% improvement over comfort and noise over our stock tyre. i believe higher end tyre will give better result.
*
After driving my 2.0SX for two weeks. notice that whenever road is uneven or bumps, there are some noises coming from dashboard. But most irritating is a clicking sound coming I think from behind. Something like metal hitting metal sound. Anyone experience that.

As for left pull issue, not sure. I do notice that the steering wheel is not completely straight. It is slight align to the left. If you straightened it car will move a bit to the right. Is this the left pull issue?

FC seem to improve a bit after driving a lot more on hw with less jam. Now at abt 10.xL / 100KM. Previously 11.x.

Tyre sound is loud. Probably due to the choice of tyre and maybe need a bit more sound proofing. Not sure if need sound proof just the door or maybe also the below where your pedals are.

i agree with you. IMO, the reading on the panel is for reference. you can't be too obsessed with the FC reading. why don't you compare FC with the 'distance to empty'? at the end of the day, it's the driver's style of driving that determines the overall performance of the car. be it you choose to change your rims or to do any modifications. you bought this car for a reason and i believe, FC is one of it. so, enjoy every moment of it smile.gif
*
Agreed that when you buy Forte or any car for that matter, you should not be too obsessed with FC but look at the overall driving experience. But again FC will always be a concern. And for me, reading other people's experience on FC and how they achieve it will give me an idea what's the best way for me to drive and maximize on FC while not reducing the driving experience that I'm used to.

I welcome and enjoy reading all the suggestion to reduce FC. I may follow some suggestion and I may not follow some. For example, I'm not going to change my rims to 16" to save on FC. I will not change the tyres until it is time to change. I may asked my right foot to be less aggresive and enjoy the drive more.

Hi,

Just wondering whether anyone know why the distance to empty only blinks and doesn't show any figure. Just before that happens, the DTE was showing 60KM. Then after driving another 5 - 10KM, it just start to blink and dont show any figure. My distance travelled that time was about 400KM.

2nd fuel up - Caltex RON 95 / RM 85 / 44.735L / 407KM. FC now drops from 11.x to 10.97. The Forte calculation is 10.7L/100KM.

Run 30% City / 70% Highway - FC is 8.3litres/100KM

Run 70% City / 30% Highway - FC is 10litres/100KM

1.6SX - Esso Ron95

My 2.0 mostly NKVE and KL area weekdays. weekends nearby places
recently pump RM 94 (49.48L) when DTE <50km @ 398.8km.

Forte meter show 11.1L/100km. My own calculation show 12.41L/100km

If NKVE is smooth, i can see the FC is better. Driving short distance is not good for FC which I did quite a lot - driving my kids to tuition, go nearby store to buy things, etc.

when i travel to work (village+town) full tank can go 530-550km
now, (totally town) full tank can go 400-450km

both DTE left 80-100km
*
Most of the time my 2.0SX can go about 400 then DTE < 50km. on average low 11.x L/100km. Maybe I'm heavy footed. Still have not be able to get below 10L/100 km for 1 full tank.

Most of the time driving NKVE and then exit damansara/subang jam. I notice also that driving short distance not very fuel efficient this car such as going to local store to buy things or sending kids to tuition.

Another interesting thing even though I floor the accelerator and speed on the highway, the fc meter will drop. once out of highway and hit the crawl the fc meter go up again. dunno whether something wrong or not.

Chilled out bro. Everyone love our Forte. Anyway I dont see any big difference between 10 or 11 / 100km. I used to look at the instant bar and maintain at between 10L but end up ma get extra 20-30km. Not so obvious. Now I dont care anytime wanna rush just step the pedal and what I've got was 10.5L/100 and 20km lesser only....
So far I can get around 450KM full tank with ODO <100
*
Bro, how u achieve 450km full tank with ODO <100 with tekan minyak as u wish? I wish I can achieve that. So far I'm getting only about 400 - 420km and DTE is < 50km.

What fuel u use? Or maybe my car still not break in yet. Less 5K mileage.

My 2 month old bright silver baby got scratched recently by kids on bicycle. There is a 6 inch line on the right hand side at the back of the car. Luckily it is not noticeable from far. But nearby you can see a line. Tried to polish the thing, cannot remove it. use finger to feel it, can feel something but not too deep.

Wondering if sending this to Waxson, PPS or Siera Glow, can hide the scratch or not. Any advice?

white was my first choice, for months been thinking about it but in the end i bought bright silver (some call it diamod silver). 1st is because i have busy schedule so can't wash frequent enough (unable to drop for wash too). 2nd is because white is too common. 3rd, white requires higher paint maintaince cost and lastly, for me, white is too "pretty" (anyone else feel that way??)
why turn off passanger side airbag, you won't know when you will get involved in an accident, don't leave life to chance just to save some money. but just out of curiousity, is the turn off switch is the 'off/on' type? whereby you can turn on the side airbag when you have a side passanger?
yes, airbag is not safe for baby/children who are seated in child seat with the type that has the baby facing the seat. it is published in the car owner's manual. please have a read.
wah boss, just got my car 2 weeks ago, can i be eligible for the free service too?? and that time the interest rate was higher too, any discount or freebies to offset ??  biggrin.gif
not only H, but T just announced and is competing with H for amount of cars being recalled  laugh.gif

my 2 weeks old bright silver baby got hit recently by a teenage kid on car. there is a huge ugly sight on the left hand side at the back of the car. unluckily, it is noticeable from space. but nearby you can see clearer. tried to cover with canvas, cannot remove it. use finger to feel it, can feel something cutting my heart deep deep.

for my case, bumper broken, reverse sensor broken, trunk lid damaged, side body dented, brake and signal lights broken. estimate 6k repair. to claim third party succesfully have to wait two weeks for 'keputusan kes' from traffic police. i haven't even pop my car virginity (1k km), already like this.
bro, have you consider using 'scratch remover' or the 'same colour scratch refill pen'. i think you can find the info in lyn, if not head over to myforteclub. doesn't cost you much...

Thanks. I'm considering whether to re-paint. Not sure where can do this and must be reliable shop. Dont want to re-paint then few mths down the road color fade or crack. Anyone know any shop in shah alam or subang that can do forte re-paint using original paint.

i heard these:
1) my friend's friend send his for SG. after few months, he got scratch n send the car there again. they fix it n foc.
2) heard scratch removal pen is not good enough and touch up pen is better. besides that, u can send ur car to workshop n ask for experience. they might do something like touch up to fix it.

Thanks for the suggestion
