yup. for more accurate, pump the petrol after it reach "distance to empty"=50km, fill the tank around rm80, which is almost full. reset trip meter to zero, drive around n check the meter when it reach "distance to empty"=50km. then calculate manually:
ron95;
rm1.90/l -> rm80 = 42l
trip meter = 400km/42l
thus it equal to, fc = 10.5l/100km
I hv one good suggestion which i always used to check my wife myvi 1.3cc manual for fuel consumption that isron95;
rm1.90/l -> rm80 = 42l
trip meter = 400km/42l
thus it equal to, fc = 10.5l/100km
1st, pump full tank until almost overflow ( a little bit overflow at mouth of refuel hole), not need to know how much u pump in. after that immediately reset trip meter to "0" before start to drive ur car.
2nd, then, drive ur car like usual until indicator light up to refill it. ( try to memorise where u drive mostly, city or highway if can )
3rd, then, go to pump station, and record down ur total distance from trip meter, say trip meter shown 450km for example. meaning that u hv travel 450km from last full tank (which almost overflow one)
4th, now pump full tank until almost overflow again ( a little bit overflow at mouth of refuel hole like previous pump) to see how much fuel u need to replace it until same level. Now check ur amount of fuel pump in , say RM 60.00 or 31.58 litres for example for RON 95.
5th, now u can use 450km as recorded in trip meter divided by 31.58 litres to get 14.25km / litre which equal to 7.02 litres / 100km.
In my opinion, this is most accurate method to measure ur fuel consumption compare to those digital display which i always doubt on it. (This call replacement method since u can pump it until almost overflow which u can see by ur eye to make sure it is same level of full tank between last pump and current pump)
BTW, my wife myvi fuel consumption really around 14km / litre , i hv checked it a lot of time already about 60% city and 40% highway
Still dilema in deciding for buying Honda City 1.5E or Kia Forte 2.0SX, although I know I should not compare between different Segment car , but I compare them because both fall into my budget.
