Hi everyone,

Got my forte 2.0 for 2 weeks already. Just want to share some issues with my forte.

1) Squeaking sound from the the clock plastic housing, instrument gauge and behind it.
2) Just discovered yesterday some knocking sound from i think is the front passenger side curtain airbag.
3) The interactive multimedia player sometimes doesn't want to read my usb. Sometimes come out the application.exe failure.
4) Not properly fastened passenger and driver seat. This causes the passenger seat to vibrate to the engine rev and sometimes make vibrating sound.
5) Silverstone Atlantis v7 on my car makes too much noise.
6) Wind noise from the window when doing about 100km plus.

All the sifus-sifus, any idea what to do ah?

My only hope right now is to get all of them rectified during the first service.

But on the whole the car is so fun to drive.

my dashboard got rattling sound too. try to cover up by increasing the radio volume, but sometimes the touch HU has reception problem, so still can hear the rattling sound. quite annoying sometimes.

Anybody tried soundproofing the doors? Extra foaming/insulation with those mats might get rid of the rattles right? The rattles are annoying! cry.gif

Soundproofing will help or not? Confirm no rattling after soundproof? LOL! Or it only help with outside noises.

ha ha  smile.gif i got my forte - TS color from a dealer within one mth. Naza branch always give less discount and gifts. BTW what colour did you order in the end?

TS! (IM is the right color code in fact tongue.gif ). I may not have time (use up lot water, not env green + I'm a lazy ) to wash my car all the time, so black and white is out. My previous car is maroon, is time to change so Red also out. Bright Silver is not favorable by my mum and wife. So titanium Silver is the only choice for me. icon_idea.gif

1) nothing much to do about it, does it happen in hot weather? if yes, it is due to plastic expanding when you on the air-cond, quite common problem for some car, eg: altis. i tried stick some pad into the plastic gap, improved a lot but cannot be eliminated. or just let sc operate it.

5) yup, quite noisy and the rubber feel hard. i changed to continental mc5 recently, which is entry tyre only, but at least 30% improvement over comfort and noise over our stock tyre. i believe higher end tyre will give better result.

After driving my 2.0SX for two weeks. notice that whenever road is uneven or bumps, there are some noises coming from dashboard. But most irritating is a clicking sound coming I think from behind. Something like metal hitting metal sound. Anyone experience that.

As for left pull issue, not sure. I do notice that the steering wheel is not completely straight. It is slight align to the left. If you straightened it car will move a bit to the right. Is this the left pull issue?

FC seem to improve a bit after driving a lot more on hw with less jam. Now at abt 10.xL / 100KM. Previously 11.x.

Tyre sound is loud. Probably due to the choice of tyre and maybe need a bit more sound proofing. Not sure if need sound proof just the door or maybe also the below where your pedals are.

Same to me. Dashboard got rattling noise when drives on uneven road especially in the morning. Must have good tinted to protect your dashboard from sunlight. Or you must cover with something such as carpet.

Left pull.. need to test first.

FC .... drop to 9.3-10L/100KM after 4 days. Hope will make it more.

Highway ... always good. If I can make it drop to 8L/100KM in city drive, I will be happy enough.

I am thinking about modify the car now in order to reduce the FC ....

Talking about FC is like a never ending story. Too much variables involve in our everyday driving that affects the FC. For a 13xxkg car with 17" rims, figures around 8-11L/100km is consider ok for me for a mix driving condition. There's no way the FC will be better if we always stuck in the traffic jam or being heavy footed all the way. So everyone's FC will not be the same although we drive on the same route due to many variables (factors) such as traffic conditions, speed, tyre pressure, total car weight, our right foot's mood etc...

i agree with you. IMO, the reading on the panel is for reference. you can't be too obsessed with the FC reading. why don't you compare FC with the 'distance to empty'? at the end of the day, it's the driver's style of driving that determines the overall performance of the car. be it you choose to change your rims or to do any modifications. you bought this car for a reason and i believe, FC is one of it. so, enjoy every moment of it smile.gif

Agreed that when you buy Forte or any car for that matter, you should not be too obsessed with FC but look at the overall driving experience. But again FC will always be a concern. And for me, reading other people's experience on FC and how they achieve it will give me an idea what's the best way for me to drive and maximize on FC while not reducing the driving experience that I'm used to.

I welcome and enjoy reading all the suggestion to reduce FC. I may follow some suggestion and I may not follow some. For example, I'm not going to change my rims to 16" to save on FC. I will not change the tyres until it is time to change. I may asked my right foot to be less aggresive and enjoy the drive more.
