QUOTE(jimmy.soo @ Aug 6 2012, 11:03 PM) the one heading to PJ, that junction before pearl point if you are coming from KL direction heading to PJ Noted. Take note that the AES speed radar camera is capable of identifying the speed of cars in multiple lanes simultaneously. Even though there is a flash, it does not mean that you have overspeed as it could be due to other car.

QUOTE(khchong81 @ Aug 6 2012, 11:23 PM) I was flashed last saturday at Jalan Ipoh. Near the traffic light before HSBC Bank. Does AES also function as camera for those that violate red traffic light? Did they issue summon since still in trial period? I just call my friend who lived near Old Klang Road. He told me that the AES camera is behind the traffic light from KL to PJ (before Pearl Point traffic light junction), and it will snap the rear of the cars who beat the red light. Not sure they will issue summon during this trial period. And it is also working at night with its built in flash system. BEWARE: "AES camera does not sleep" Added on August 7, 2012, 9:22 amQUOTE(22222222 @ Aug 7 2012, 09:11 AM) If you know chinese wording, below show 14 locations for time being. http://www.sinchew-i.com/files/2012/08/03/mwl2012080301.jpgAnyone care to translate the location to English and post the map here again? QUOTE(megat89 @ Aug 9 2012, 05:32 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « i tot these are manual speed trap..not the new AES..or am I wrong? This is what i thought also. It is not AES camera. Our concern is permanent AES camera because it is operated 24 hours. Can someone reconfirm any of the sites at PLUS highway? Police mobile speed camera is not counted.

QUOTE(ravenlost @ Aug 9 2012, 10:53 PM) How does it detect? Howvit knows we violate the red light? If simply crossed the white line abit pon sudah flash susah la. It will take photo twice to show "before" and "after". There is some sensor on the road surface. This post has been edited by wegatech: Aug 10 2012, 08:31 AM

KUALA LUMPUR: No traffic summonses will be issued to road users under the new Automated Enforcement System (AES) during the Hari Raya holiday period, the Transport Ministry said.
Its Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said the Government had not set a date to fully implement the system as the cameras were still being tested and certified.
“We'll announce later when the system will start and we'll ensure that there are enough signboards in the areas that are under camera surveillance.
“We hope the system will be fully-operational by year-end,” he told a press conference after launching the national Hari Raya celebrations traffic awareness campaign at the Integrated South-Bandar Tasik Selatan Transport Terminal yesterday.
It was reported that under the new system, 566 speed cameras and 265 traffic light cameras would be installed while 250 mobile cameras would be in use for places with inadequate infrastructure for setting up a camera.
Kong said some of the cameras had already been put in place in some “blackspot areas” but were only on trial mode.
On another matter, Kong said the national speed limit on federal and state roads would be reduced by 10kph during the Hari Raya period.
“The speed limit will now be 80kph for federal roads while those travelling on state roads will not be allowed to go more than 70kph. It will take effect beginning Aug 12 until Aug 26.
“The Road Transport Department will also impose restriction on heavy vehicles carrying goods from Aug 17 to 18 and on Aug 25 to 26,” said Kong.
Meanwhile, several people interviewed were all for the lowered speed limit during the holiday period and gave the thumbs up for the AES system.
Student Chye Hui, 20, said she welcomed the move to reduce the speed limit during the Hari Raya holiday period.
“It is a good start to help reduce the risk and number of accidents. I hope the Government will also deploy more traffic police to reduce congestion during the period,” she said.
Another student, Mohamed Shafiq Mustafa, 21, also lauded the move to lower the speed limit and also expressed hope that the AES system would be implemented soon.

QUOTE(IluvProton @ Aug 10 2012, 07:27 PM) oh wai I not surprise. Did you know last time the speed trap in traffic light got flash type? those pulis can't process the picture. It also process by 3rd party and later send to pulis traffic for summons. Yeah, each pictar cost about RM 100+ excluding installation , repair and so on. Sooner this AES for pulis say cutting cost or too many summons for citizen until they can't handle. They will start from another new tech. And also if this AES so efficient and accurate, the pulis less 'duit raya' liao cause cannot using block in the middle highway and say they capture your speed. Top management of traffic trying to change but even their own staff resist to make new changes due to no benefit to them. Facts in oversea usually can't use in malaysia because we always 'you tolong saya, saya tolong you' From what I heard, police have the right to catch speedster using their own speed camera. AES camera is not under police jurisdiction. And since AES will not be implemented on Hari Raya, that doesn't stop the police from mounting their roadblock or perform "Ops Sikap".

PETALING JAYA: When the light turns amber, you have just two seconds before it turns red and the cameras catch you committing a traffic offence under the Automated Enforcement System.
This allowance is given in consideration of the “human element” in the event that you are not able to stop immediately when the light turns amber.
Under the AES, you are also given a leeway of 10kph beyond the speed limit, according to Road Transport Department director-general Datuk Solah Mat Hassan.
For example, if the speed limit is 110kph, you will only be “captured” on AES camera if you exceed 120kph, he told a media briefing here yesterday.
“Thus, offenders can no longer argue they only drove a couple of kilometres over the speed limit or that the traffic light turned red halfway.”
Solah also said the system started on Sunday with 14 cameras installed at accident-prone areas in Perak, Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur 10 to catch speed limit breakers and four to nab those who beat the red light.
In those two days, 2,952 offenders were caught on camera 809 for speeding and 2,143 for beating the red light, he added.
Solah said that cameras would be installed at 817 blackspots nationwide in the next one year.
He said the cameras, with an 11 megapixel resolution, could capture clear images of vehicles even when they were moving at high speed.
“The images captured will be sent automatically to the AES control centre and the vehicle registration numbers of the offenders will be cross-checked with the database of the Road Transport Department before a summons notice is mailed to the vehicle owner.
“Offenders will receive their summons notice within five days of the date they violated traffic rules. They are given two months to pay their RM300 compounds. They can be hauled to court if they refuse to pay up,” he said.
Solah stressed that the AES was not aimed at issuing summonses, but to educate people to be good road users and reduce the number of deaths due to accidents in the country.
As such, he said, signages were put up to give ample warning on the presence of cameras.
Two concessionaire companies, ATES Sdn Bhd and Beta Tegap Sdn Bhd, operate AES, each investing between RM300mil and RM400mil

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Sep 27 2012, 12:52 PM) Not just in Switzerland. It happens in many European countries. You just need to be standing at the road side and all the cars will automatically stop for you. Even in a remote region like Andenes, Norway where there are only about 30 cars in the city and the roads are usually deserted, they will stop for you to cross without u even having to look or make any gesture. In Australia, I noticed the car will stop if there is a pedestrian walking even though it is green light for the car to turn. Not in Malaysia, you either get honk or bang.
