last time I went to change my tire at a workshop. So after it was all changed the worker usually pump the tire.
Yesterday when I want to pump my tire for long journey reason, to my surprise it was over 40psi (!). I thought the max capacity of a normal motorcycle tire is around 30psi?

can someone enlighten me on this?

tyre shop ALWAYS overpump the tyres
and i mean always
my tyre are 220KPA...he always go pump 280KPA
they overpumped it becuz it feels very nice when you're driving/riding it
not sure this case apply to motor or not but it feels better for car but bad in some case

the maximum PSI is stated at the tyres itself...see and have a look is what
i dn't think its gonna explode but uneven wear is unavoidable

i think mostly because the workshop airpump use the same compressor which also power the air wrench..
due to the force require by air wrench, i guess the default pressure of the compressor is actually higher than usual tyre pressure within 30PSI....

so the pomen only "agak2" your tyre pressure whenever he fill-in the air...most of the time they will just fill bit by bit and knock/press your tyre to guess if it reach the acceptable pressure....

i dn't think so...yes, the compressor is powerful
but there is another hose that has a meter on it between the tyre and the hose from the compressor
so they know perfectly the pressure..they dn't just connect the hose from the compressor directly to the tyre
but i saw some do BUT they have another monitor thingy that plugs into the tyre to see the pressure and release pressure at the same time
so they purposely pump higher PSI/KPA to the tyre actually

I'm referring to motorcycle workshop...Yes, pressure gauge/meter at compressor important to monitor output pressure supplied by the compressor... cos torque wrench/air wrench usually require 90PSI to operate...not an issue if they use separate line and regulator for air pump nozzle and air wrench...

but most pomen i saw at motorcycle workshop just quickly swap (pull & plug) the air pump nozzle and torque wrench using the same line from the compressor ...dont think they can simply regulate the air pressure by doing that...

For car workshop mostly they will double check using pressure gauge plug onto your tyre valve..but i never saw motorcycle pomen done it...

this is bad
but even car they have double check yet still overpressure
and when i go service, when they're draining the motor oil, they will go check my tyre pressure, and still overpumped it
