Is that gud or bad?

Not so good, but don't worry, it's because of my NOS, you guys using petrol won't have such high temperature.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalytic_converter
More-recent catalytic-converter designs are not as susceptible to temperature damage and can withstand sustained temperatures of 900 °C (1,650 °F).

And I exceeded that so called more-recent limit.

mengsuan, since you have OBDII reader, try removing FS and see how's the temperature when rev high...

The max I've seen is 800+ a bit. If fully running on petrol, 700+.

quite confusing here... 800+ is using nos or petrol and it burn using FS or without?
and how bout 700+, running on petrol with FS or not?

Both are at the same moment, 2 sensors.

On a 4 cyl, the front / upstream is called "bank 1 sensor 1" and the rear / downstream sensor is called "bank 1, sensor 2."

I have not tested with petrol, no money to pay for petrol. tongue.gif

800 or 900 degress celcius, ca con is wear and tear item also. Thats why manufacturers give only one year warranty fore exhaust system.

speaking of which, 3 more days then it is my car's birthday laugh.gif

manufactured on 16/8. lol

True that, I expect to remove the cat con after a while. Especially true if I'm really turbocharging the car.

QUOTE(lhwj @ Aug 13 2012, 08:34 PM)
I didn't know that...

1. You have NOS

And

2. There's a temperature sensor at the cat-con

On modern cars, cat con status is monitored to ensure vehicle is operating within emission standard. There are a lot more sensors in the car if you look at the whole list of OBD2 readings.
