yea yea... meantime preve is my first choice car..
been following the thread from V1 till now jo..
actually the only thing that holding me back is the QC problem le..
i do understand that no cars are problem free..
but seeing more CFE preve stall and nid to be towed to sc really make me sked..
i wanna CFE actually but it seems CFE suffered more problem.. especially the OWV.. hehe
yet my neighbor just got one cfe preve few days ago..
he told me it was great and no problem for the time being  biggrin.gif
*
yup.. this has become like a "phobia" even to recent new owners...
got some friends who just got their preve this past few weeks...
although not many prob with their ride, but by reading some materials on the net about preve prob...
they immediately become "phobia/panic" and started to think macam2...
weird sound je cakap OWV.. air radiator leaking say brake fluid leaking... and macam2 lagi...

QUOTE(rich8833 @ Aug 9 2012, 06:09 PM)
and wondering why this owner want to sell???
Used Preve For Sale
*
not only them... try pusing2 around kota damansara / kepong side where got a lot of 2nd car dealer..
you'll be surprised at the number of 2nd hand preve for sale... sad lah...
wish DRB would finish up their audit on proton soon... just fire those lousy ones and move on business as usual...

His contributions in V8 until now is kinda huge guiding ppl especially for the Soundproofing..
*
yeah, true... he was very active in LYN with his opinion..
not having him around makes this thread rather slow...

if i'm not mistaken somewhere in this forum did mentioned that our late bro fulat's wife name is Mandy. i was talking to a friend yesterday, he is working with a company associated with HTC... he did mentioned about a lady working with JardineOne Solution in Kelana Jaya, whom had recently lost her husband. What happened was the husband was at a workshop or car accessories shop when he suddenly collapsed. When sent to hospital, it was detected there was bleeding in the head. I was also told that the husband had recently bought a brown colored preve... if this is true, then my condolences to Mandy & family.. I was also informed that they just got married sometime late last year... bye.gif

probably someone can compile and put a tribute to our late brother fulat in PREVOC FB or forum... so as his knowledge, contribution and opinion can be well remembered...

haish... what a boring day today...
office black out... no internet, no email... just sit quiet2 and layan LYN on my mobile... dem...

anyway... just to kill the mood...
apa kata we discuss about reverse / forward camera for cars...

i was at an accessories shop in melaka recently, and while talking to the owner, i was enlighten with some info on how to choose the best camera for our beloved car...

2 things we need to look into, which is the type of image sensors the camera is using, and another factor that we need to look at is the minimum illumination of the camera...

when choosing the right image sensors, CCD is at the moment the best choice as it create less noise particle than the conventional CMOS... that's why most CCD camera are positioned at a slight premium price...

another factor to consider is to get the lowest LUX rate for the illumination... the lower the illumination, means the camera can capture image in lower density lighting better...

in summary, try looking for car camera with CCD image sensors, with minimum illumination of less then 1 or 2 if possible... anyway, this was what being told by the tauke lah... if he bulls me... then no komen lah... maybe we can get better opinion here on this matter...

it's true, CCD, someone did bought that sony ccd camera, and works well in very dark place.
bro Barts is it?

that one comes with the rear plate lamp cover, so no drilling needed. i am thinking of getting those.
forward camera, if use those night vision with heat sensor, can drive on very dark road.
*
yup... CCD image more sharper... but if can get with <1 LUX much better i guess... can see much better in the dark...

the one on the rear lamp... some say we might not get a better straight alignment when we reverse, some says boleh lah... donno lah which one is rite...

another note to take into consideration, make sure the reverse cam have the reference line features... somehow this features is embedded onto the cam???

not forgetting the lens angle, the wider the better...

its better for us to check the box or spec sheet before considering of buying... as some seller can easily mislead the buyer with incorrect info...

there are already aftermarket reverse cam for exora rear plate lamp, but not sure compatible or not... don't know the exact measurement...

we have to wait for the abang2 here to update...

QUOTE(stargate8 @ Aug 30 2012, 11:48 AM)
oh, so better put at the center to get the aligned angle ...hmm drilling needed then...
need to read back those old post when i got the time, as i'm still waiting for proton to call me for parts replacement.
after all the defect sorted out then
*
for me i don't mind if a bit senget, as at the end of the day, just as long as I can have a clear view of the rear, then can pandai2 budget...

why don't you try charming acc shop? saw a few preve at one of their branch near bukit baru during raya doing some kind of installation... maybe you can try ask them... prob bring along the wiring diagram for their reference...

also need to check the type of camera they are selling..
i. CCD? CMOS?
ii. Min Illumination? <1? <2?
iii. got reference line feature?
iv. lens angle? >150?

also had seen a lot of preve accessories now... if you rajin jalan2 at accessories shop you sure can find some... there's one shop... if not mistaken around semabuk area... got sell the chrome lining for the rear & window... some got sell RM30-40 door visor...

a very strategic location indeed... good for you...
i used to have my wira serviced there before during the old mgmt...
and the parking space is huge, can test konar baring right after service.. hehe..
so, your dealership is now a 2/3S center i presume...

Hello, I am new here and I am thinking to buy Preve/Inspira. Preve is cheap but seems got a lot of problems. Inspira is Mitsubishi design (should be more reliable) but more expensive. Any advise?
*
i think i did recalled seeing your nick in the prius c thread...
anyway... i think i did saw you make remarks that you choose prius c since quality is your main concern...
if this is the case, then i would suggest you find other car make as i'm affraid that proton cars might not be up to your high expectation...
even if inspira is based on mitsu platform, some might make noise later since it is assembled by proton...
this is my humble opinion...

Speaking of which Mr.Chinot, How many weeks already is ur wife's Prius C? No issues at all bro? Huhu
*
er... mid june to now... hm... (too lazy to count, hehe)
but had driven the car for balik kampung..
pj-air keroh-muar-kluang-kota tinggi-desaru-kulai-jb-air keroh-pj...

its a nice car, but not for the hard footer lah...
my only prob (its the driver prob, not the car eh) is to adapt to the gear..
when i press harder to accelerate, the gear shift down only momentarily before it shift back to higher gear while i'm in the midst of overtaking...
just imagine macam the power lost while overtaking...
make me feel seram sejuk when trying to potong a car when travelling on kampung road...
but then after few days driving managed to adapt...

others... hm... i accidentally broke the cup holder at the back seat... (without my wife's knowledge of course)..
i stick it temporarily using double sided tape, hope to have it replaced when i sent for service

Thanks for your & mrchinot's opinion! Personally I like PC, due to its hybrid technology, but it is not cheap plus the fact it is small (can't afford a Prius). Keep having pressure from family that this is not a good buy, therefore I wanna know more about Preve/Inspira. Thanks for your sharing!!
*
i'm also starting to like hybrid cars, but then, not many to choose from, especially those under the 100k limit.. there are other option that you might want to consider.. since now many modern cars are designed to be fuel efficient... and to comply to environment regulation... try look for blogs with reviews...

i always put safety as my main priority, among which why i was considering preve earlier... due to the safety features it has... it has reinforced structure, airbags, abs, stability control, traction control, and such... and to make it an interesting deal, the car is affordable... i consider this as a good deal...

but then again... i do admit earlier batches of cars would definitely have minor issues, since the car manufacturer mostly test on the engine and handling features when testing, rather than the non-critical components...

my E90 also do have defects, had to changed the ABS twice (which until today after 2 years of owning the car, the ABS warning light still triggers), i had prob with the door locking mechanism, some rattling issues... so no car's is perfect... (maybe some beemer owner too shy2 to admit)...

that's great bro! especially on the collision repair & spray job... must get my bro to send his beloved antique wira to this place to get his front bonet repaired and painted... keep on sending to small2 shop ended up rusting here & there...

QUOTE(Saya_Dhuang @ Sep 4 2012, 09:48 PM)
Huhu.. Well, not to mean this in a bad way, what do u expect from a hybrid? For sure it's not for heavy footer as its more towards being a fuel-saving car.

But power loss during over taking is quite terrifying for those who forever failed to adapt to it. Glad to hear that u're both getting along well.

Haha, then lucky u that thing can be double sided taped bro. Like what I did with my wife's viva, my wife realized that there's s a big dent on the roof which has caused the paint chip off and rusty when I took my car back home last raya. I never knew that there's the dent there. Free lecture all day long that day..  sweat.gif
It was due to the paint (Fiery Red) got supplier problem.
*
tu lah... lucky tak teracun with the CRZ hybrid... else sure bawak car like hantu... haha...
alah... apa ni tak expect cover2... kan dah kantoi...
kalau radio bising takpa... boleh pelan kan volume...
bila mem bising... then tak bleh tolong lah bro... sendri mau ingat... haha...
oklah... its 8.30am... breakfast time! chow...

Guys, do you experience fog/misting at ur front windscreen near the 2 windscreen demisters?

I always experience it as there is soft cooled air coming out from there causing misting although i switch to any non-demister mode.

Is it leakage or is it standard for preve?
thanks...

Anybody care to reply me? =(

as what i can recalled during the earlier thread, the difference is the earlier alphabet character that diff between cfe & exec.. but note sure about the numbers...

QUOTE(kongyw @ Sep 5 2012, 03:06 PM)
Today the engine cut off again in the afternoon after engaging to "R".

- yesterday wrote to i.care regarding this and this morning a member of the team called me up to inform me that COSE is fully booked the following few days and suggest that perhaps I can just stick to the original appointment on 13-Sept, else I can try Glenmarie SC... also told me that it "shouldn't" be an issue with the "R" randomly acting up...
*
try check batt terminal...
my boss PA is driving the exec ver got this kind of symptom also last time...
she called the nearby workshop and they say its the batt terminal loose...
reason being explained is that, any cars, when shift gear, engine got slight movement that "might" interfere with the batt connection, thus cause the car to loose power... (sorry ye, layman term, coz i also don't understand).. the mechanic said he had done to several preve already... all turn out OK after that... you might want to give it a try...
blink.gif

eh... how come i suddenly rajin reply in LYN...
must go back to BatCave and bertapa... let the preve owners / otais give their feedback pulak..

ah... nice to hear that bro...
to justify the remarks made by the mechanic, i did try on my ride and... yes... there are slight shift (forward and backward) when i shift gear... maybe that might have made the batt connector terkeluar like in your case...

but don't take my word entirely... if the mechanic con me, that mean i con you too... the other previan comments shouldn't be taken lightly as well, since they are sharing based on their experience... but like myself i don't like to jump to a bigger conclusion first (wishing nothing major went wrong with my ride)... i would try to test the minor2 one... if not resolved, then i would send to SC... anyway... do monitor and if there are improvement, do share your experience here as it would be an additional knowledge for other previan to look at when they have similar probs...

cheers! eh... almost 8.30am... breakfast time!
