If they can put in the R3 Campro Engine at 145hp + Turbo Charged (+25hp)... that would be more powerful than all those 2.4 engine out there. Wonder how the pricing will be like? Below 100k? Is a sure buy for everyone. huhuhu.

how about adding rm10k to exec preve for 170hp gain?

only the manual variant can do that.

Unless you fancy paying RM 22,900 for a new gearbox.

yes.

one thing about the accident,

suppose if making a u-turn and kena hentam by lorry, shouldn't the lorry hentam the passenger side? hmm.gif

The collision indicates that the lorry is travelling on the same direction as the car... hmm.gif

hey preve cfe use timing chain or belt now? all new cars shld be chain right
*
timing belt.

cfe is campro-based.
basic campro uses timing belt.

as long as it serve well, either belt or chain is good.

Quoting Desmond the Poison King ..

I originally went to KL Auto to fix the whine but he showed me a bigger & more annoying issue with Preve. There's a boominess within our cabins. Have you ever had trouble hearing what the rear passenger is saying?
*
i've been following this autofoam thread last year.

so what package did u opt for?

it's irreversible rite?

i've known bad story on badly foamed chassis...

QUOTE(nicgoh @ Aug 15 2012, 08:29 AM)
good morning guys!

fyi.. i went for a forte test drive last sunday.. and i was surprised by the interior design and comfort of the car..

compared to preve CFE.. size is more or less the same..forte is more responsive (maybe the preve test drive unit is too sluggish) but that preve has better handling and comfort..

but forte's interior seems to be better with higher quality of material used+better finishing..

my gf encourage me to buy forte EX(low spec) but my dad encourage me to buy preve CFE..

so what do u guys think?
*
with reference to these:

http://www.nazakia.com.my/sedans/forte-6-speed/pricing
http://www.nazakia.com.my/sedans/forte-6-s...eatures-options
http://www.nazakia.com.my/sedans/forte-6-s.../specifications

my findings:

1. forte ex is less-equipped (ESC, auto-aircond, paddleshift); compared to preve cfe.
2. yet forte ex's price is higher.

my exp. (2 friends got 2 fortes of diff. specs.):

1. preve's HUD infotainment is larger than forte, easier to view.
2. forte's arm rests are not comfortable, compared to preve's.
if u notice, in forte, when u lay ur hand onto the armrest, ur wrist will be tilted at an angle towards the inside door handle; whereas in preve it is straight.
3. forte's cabin is quite compared to my mom's gen2. sorry i haven't drive a preve yet.
4. fabric seat will not last long, will senget2 a bit (observed from my friend's forte).
5. i always get electric-static shock once i disgress from my friend's forte, but not from other car. i'm wearing the same asadi sandal though.

if i were in this situation, my verdict goes to preve cfe. why?

1. simply designed, no-mess body styling.
2. value for money (safety, handling, gadget).
3. malaysian-made, if bad luck happened, spare parts can be easily sourced.
4. TURBO maaaaa!

thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif thanks for ur detailing review and opinions bro! totally appreciate it!
i didnt realize that much both the few points that bro mentioned just now.. mayb i should go and test both preve and forte once again carefully.. to make sure which car suits me the most.. since proton engineer ady solve the infamous sluggish issue.. not fair to compare both car when preve i have tested still sluggish..

ya bro.. agree with u.. thats what make me fall in love with preve.. the ESC function and TURBO~~~  thumbup.gif

but i prefer forte interior styling design and better fitting quality..

adui sakit kepala  doh.gif
*
i agree with u.

1. test drive 1st.
2. buy that u like.

imo, pls note, imo only ye, no offensive & i like simple design:

1. forte's dashboard is like previous gen kia.
preve dashboard is simple & functional.

2. fit & fitting varies at places, & i believe my wife's myvi mk1 is far better than forte.
yes i admit that preve's dashboard to door panel gap at lower a-pillar is big, but forte's gap is only milimeters smaller than preve's.

3. ergonomic is where most peoples' car failed at.
pls take note on these as ergonomically-designed car will make ur body feel at ease & less strain.
a have a proper seating position with hands at wheel, then try to reach ur gear stick.
notice the distance during gear changing.
b finger flicking at lamp & wiper switches.
c front & surrounding views. a-pillar obstructing the vision?

4. well..since looks nice or not is subjective,
a i like forte's front, but i hate it's bulky & less-sculptured shoulder.
shoulder is rear fender sides under the c-pillar.
preve's shoulder is smoother & nicer.
b. i dun like preve's tailight, i prefer some sort of mini bulky like bmw m3/ vw cc to complement the curved shape of the tailight (& i wish to emphasize on the shape)..hope fellow friends here can understand what i've said..huhu)
forte's sharp tailight at fender area is useless, more or less like wira big reflective(?) tailight near the plate holder; & i see that it just serve the purpose of making the car looks nicer.
c. the lines/strokes of forte's & preve's shares the same characteristics. just look at them & evaluate which one of these really blend into the styling of the car.

oh..talked so much this morning.
i better cut&paste my comment into my blog..haha

the salesman ask me to choose 2 colour for the car..my priority is red..then silver..

today morning got email from them, they already booking the silver colour. then i called the salesman, he said red colour have no stock, maybe need to wait 3 months..silver colour got stock, maybe next month can get.

but i really wanted red colour..huhu..can somebody check for me is it true red colour have low production compared silver?
*
from my reading, red color is currently on-hold due to paint unavailability.

i like that red, gold color also.
my wife said that i'm "uncle" sweat.gif

As the picture of preve been bang by another vehicle which has been rumoured as a lorry, we can see the side airbags deployed. Judging by that, and its involve 2 vehicles n and both are moving vehicles, presuming same direction,so, atleast 30kmh speed side impact(not vehicle speed, but the force) needed to deploy the side airbags. Eg, vehicle A at speed 60kmh being hit by vehicle B at speed 90kmh which moving at same direction, not opposite direction. Both vehicles speed can be lower than that or higher, but the force must be around 30kmh.
...

*
so sifu, this is 30km/h "relative speed" kn? momentum?

may i know, does curtain airbag also help in keeping occupants head from getting out of the window?
i've seen on the net (IIHS website) regarding two crashes of Mazda2 & Ford Fiesta (whose share the same chassis with different skin). both models are equipped with curtain ab.
i'm wondering what would happen if they aren't equipped with curtain ab. will their head thrown out of window?

u drive slow then ur gear at the low gear level..resulting in high FC... hmm.gif
but usually referring to RPM meter also assist us to control the FC kot??

low RPM low FC?? please verify my word..actually i really noob about automotive....
if about computer quite well known la...haha
*
imo, FC can be low/optimum if we are driving at speed at the correct engine speed (rpm).

say, gear 1, but speed 60km/h, rpm shoot up, engine screaming, of cos bad FC.

some say, for CFE, just drive sedately around 2k rpm. enuff torque oredi.

i drive Gen2 campro vanilla always rev kow2 until get the torquey area, then i try to maintain speed.
sorry to say, not very good FC in town.

Did some test using some sound app from my phone. Not saying its accurate or anything. So here goes,

First, since I know the app might not be 100% accurate I took a baseline reading:

Quiet office room = 40dB
Engine off = 40dB

Then the test begin:

Engine Idle = 47dB
Gentle acceleration = 55dB
Harder acceleration = 60dB

Then the driving test. All city drive only. So max I could achieve is 80km/h:
(All test done with <= 2000 RPM)

Concrete road < 60km/h = 50-60dB
Concrete road @ 60km/h = 60dB
Concrete road gentle uphill = 65dB
Concrete road @ 70-80km/h = 65dB
Newly tar road @ 60km/h = 55dB!!

*
not bad eh? smile.gif
would u compare with other car, if possible?

i'm gonna try with my ride today..kancil ex 660cc.
