QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Aug 28 2012, 04:37 PM) This will require you to open a one year free current account, you can only close this current My Term Deposit-i was at RM10k, and zero balance at Amanah Advance Account-iaccount in other HSBC "main branch" after 6 months. If you do not close this current account after 1 year, you will be charged RM 20 for each year service charge for current account usage. If you FD reach or exceed RM 30K, you do not need to put any money in this current account. A free gift will be given together with this 5% FD promo.. The FD effective date only effective after your check is cleared in around 2 working days; If you do not want to waste 2 days interest, then you bring in RM 30K cash and place a FD no more than RM 30K. |

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Aug 28 2012, 05:18 PM) Really ah..? What do you mean by HSBC "main branch" ? You can close it any HSBC branch (so as I've been told)The HSBC officer told me if FD reach or exceed RM 30K, then no need money to open the free current account?? I feel it is very troublesome to go to another HSBC "main branch" to close the current account in 6 months later... |

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Aug 28 2012, 05:45 PM) I was told by HSBC that you cannot close your current account in all HSBC branches, for example: that's funny, right ?you cannot close your current account in HSBC Amanah on Old Klang Road, HSBS Amanah in Taman Maluri and etc.. You can only close your current account in other HSBC "main branch" (I forgot the HSBC specific branch name they told me) like HSBC in Taman Connaught, Chersa, or HSBC in Ampang Point, HSBC in One Utama and etc.. I'm planning to close at the HOME branch... the One Utama branch = HSBC Amanah also. |

QUOTE(tbheng @ Sep 20 2012, 10:31 PM) Talking about the HSBC 5% promo... Can we open another TD-i at those new branches, using existing HSBC Advance Amanah-i account ?I noticed the promo is extending to 3 more new branches and to Oct/Dec 2012. - Cyberjaya - Kulai - Sri Gombak For those who are around those new branches, highly recommended as it is the best offer so far. Do check out the link below and read the TnC before proceeding. promo @Gen-X, you might want to update this on post#1. Thanks. |

QUOTE(tbheng @ Sep 30 2012, 09:55 AM) Hi all, just a quick update to share my closing experience on HSBC 5% new branch promo... Thanks for the head-up on the above... with this I can approach HSBC with "more info"1. TD-i can only be uplifted one day after maturity date (for amanah). 2. It can be uplifted in any branch, no FD certs are required. 3. Banker's cheque costs RM5, IBG costs RM2, Rentas costs RM9. 4. TD-i is uplifted and credited into the Amanah Advance acct. 5. Amanah Advance acct can only be closed after TD-i uplifted. 6. Amanah Advance acct can be closed in any branch. 7. The teller processed all my 3 instructions (uplift, IBG, close acct) in single visit. 8. IBG amount can be the total of TD-i + Amanah Advance balance. 9. Fund arrived my receiving bank before 6pm the same day. 10. Bonus: they waive the IBG charge. Hence zero charges. 11. Results: solid 5% p.a. interest on 3-month tenure. 12. It is still valid for some branches, refer page#1 for details and check the TnC to see if it fits you. As I know IBG is free for HSBC Amanah Advance-i account. |
