I realize the 'best' rate is to put at full flexi current account, got 4.2%. Interest is daily, so can take out money when emergency also

QUOTE(ronnie @ Nov 7 2012, 02:39 PM) it is not FD rate. Example if you have RM300k loan, and if BLR is 6.6% and bank offer -2.4%, so the interest bank charge is 4.2%. But if you money say RM20k to dump into that current account, bank will give you back 4.2% for that RM20k. So, it is indirectly 4.2% p.a. Am i right? |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Nov 8 2012, 09:46 AM) I think ngaisteve1 is talking about instead of placing 20k in FD earning 3.x%, might as well use the money to cover up the flexi loan account Interest at 4.2%. ya lo, this is what i mean. of course, the remaining still need to charge for that 4.2% interest la.His rm20k "yields" better in flexi account than FD account. A sensible move indeed. |

QUOTE(alvinlim84 @ Jan 8 2013, 05:07 PM) Hi. I have a question about the OCBC Smart Saver account. Does the interest calculate based on monthly deposited amount or total balanced amount? Yesterday check for OCBC FD got 3.5% PA for IQ member. And any latest FD promotion at OCBC? Ambank online rate has up to 3.40% for 12 months placement. |

QUOTE(vincentboleh @ Jan 9 2013, 11:28 AM) Lets take RM100K invested in a year and you get additional 1% or RM1k. is MBSB GLC? Ge coming Question is, would you risk your RM100k just for the extra RM1k offered? I would'nt, but I agree that we all reserved the right to take risk differently. Remember the grandparents' sayings: (1) Do not buy house built on mining land; (2) Only buy landed property; and (2) If you plan to change your car in 5 years, do buy something with good resale value. |
