what is the conclusion for this maybank offer? how much we need to deposit? to maximize the return? and when? as the more post that I read, I get more confuse.

Yes. Brain hurts here too. But er... if I have <RM50k for this musical chair is it worth it? Or I'll go for HSBC 3 months 5%

Remember REIT acts like bond/fd during good times but when the economy crash or during bad times it will act like a stock.

So wouldn't it be better to just buy dividend stocks that pay as good a dividend as REITs?

Alliance bank got step-up FD promo. 3.1% on first few months, 6% on the sixth month deposit. Need to open savings account with cash that's 10% of FD deposit.

Just for the record, doubt its really attractive

How did you come out with 4.55%?
*
Ah... I manage to get 4.55% by 3.1+6 then divide by 2, which was most likely what he calculated too... mystery solved cool.gif

Any UT gives more than 30% dividen..per unit... whistling.gif   average i know is 9 sen to 15 sen per unit.

Am at the risk of going off-topic here but here goes tongue.gif

Are you sure any UT will give >30%? There are ppl who haven't break even from the last recession.

(I manage to get decent profits from PCSF bcos I micromanage and switch between PCSF/PMMF, but how many % of UT investors are aware of the need to educate themselves?)
