Hmm, no call up from Melaka branch yet  They agree to give you two? Two accounts as in Saving/Current accounts or FD account?

Contacted BR branch at my location and found out that they have distributed the CNY gifts for FD holders. I asked why they missed me out this year and the officer said will call me back. Until now no news, called them back again but given the run-around. I am so going to contact the branch manager if i didnt get any follow up call 

I do not think Captain is on vacation.., but I think he quits for somehow...

I will still accept whatever the content is, but to not be included in the list at all, then I need to know, maybe i need to increase my FD or what.

up north over here it is also abit late this year, i just got the hamper today, not as good as last year's though. LAst year i rememeber it was worth RM200+ as displayed at EU Yan Sang .

Looking from the packaging outside -  Health Care energy Snack- Oat germ Cracker, Biogreen organic  raisins, Natural selected wild honey, organic soya bean powder?, organic cookies, Ten multigrains from careline organic..

Other banks giving CNY hampers?? I have savings with HLB, AMbank, MBSB aboutthe same, but never received anything for CNY.

MBSB give free gifts for FD deposit yes. Ambank and HLB nothing at all.

12 Month FD summary

UOB Triple Fortune, 3.65% for 9months..so so freebies.

HL Mach 4% FD, got PIDM but lousy freebies..

BR 4.01 to 4.11% FD, got no PIDM, but got reasonable freebies..

are you in Penang? gsc also confirmed he was charge RM0.15 only. But some of us here outside Penang are imposed RM2.15 per cheque.

BR..gave me 4.11% (12 month deposit) for RM250k deposit...got hamper only..dunno worth to put in..or wait for better ones..

Went to BR & was told by the officer in charge that :

1. Gifts are given to customers based on the discretion of the bank. Different branch may have different policy. Etc. If I place 50K for a 12-month FD in BR ABC, I'm entitled for an umbrella. Whereelse if I go to BR XYZ with the same placement & tenure, I might be offered 2 towels or 3 Parker pens.

2. There was no CNY dinner ever held by BR at my local branch

3. Minimum amount needed to get 4.20% for a 12-month FD placement is RM1 million (calling magika...can help verify this statement? )

4. Premature withdrawal rate for FD is based on the earlier month profit rate table, counted monthly. Etc. If I deposited a 12-month tenure in January & I withdraw it in November, the premature rate is 3.85% (January to November = 10 month period. Since there is no profit rate for 10-month, I will get the rate of the earlier month = 9-month FD rate = 3.85%).
***magika, I noticed this statement contradicts your post regarding premature floor rate for 12-month tenure, which you mentioned is at 2.94%. But so I was told 

Well,  previously have given out quite a lot of info for BR so quite lazy to repeat it. When it comes to nego rates, it helps if can build good PR with the officer concerned and also good deposit history. No need to ask from the same person again, just find a different branch and insist they request for the rates you want. Give a hint that you will call their HQ direct if they do not accomodate you.

note: I am on very good terms from the security guard, counter personnel, to BR manager.
