It's called the OSK-UOB Focus Bond Fund - Enhanced

1. You get Annual Income Distribution : 3.5% to 4.0% p.a from Bond portfolio + average 2.5% from Yield Enhancement Strategy
2. Capital Reservation at the end of the 3-year
3. Potential Higher Returns than 3-Year FD Rate
4. Non-Taxable on Income Distribution

I don't read anything on capital preservation for this fund...

Also, there is a difference between Capital GUARANTEED UT fund and Capital PROTECTED UT fund, the former guarantees the return of capital invested, whereas the latter merely SEEKS to protect capital invested but there is no guarantees.

It's just a projected figure...sales pitch document. What is not written in black and white inside the prospectus are not to be taken as true.

Yes, thank for the advice. i am kind of worry. MBSB, Bank Persatuan, Bank pembangunan, BSN, BANK MUAMALAT and Agrobank all under Koperasi and MOF, be careful. NO PIDM.

Anyone knows which bank/branch opens on the weekends in the Klang Valley? Weekdays to do FD placement is really difficult.
*
AmBank - Sri Petaling, Old Klang Road, many branches in housing areas/suburbs
RHB - Look for those inside shopping malls e.g. KLCC
Maybank - KLCC

is it just a normal FD or it come together with Am Investment?  Am looking for an FD among UOB, Ambank, HSBC and OCBC, as far as i know OCBC and HSBC is standing around 3.0-3.1%pa for now and UOB special rate just finished last month so it back to lower rate too.

Is this Am50plus a normal FD?
*
Normal FD but only for those aged 50 and above

Greetings guys,  I'm a student currently and have planned to put some of my saving in FD. Have done some research and have gathered that hong leong bnk offers 2.9% for 1 month and 2.95% for 2 months.  My question here is that the minimum amount to open up a basic FD would be Rm500 right ?
*
1 month = min. RM5K
2 months and above = min. RM500

AmBank offers better rate, 1 month e-FD at 3.05% icon_idea.gif

Need to find out the existing rate first. If 12-mth rate @3.4%, then the effective  only @ 3.6%, upon uplift the extra rate is void, not flexible.
*
Current AmBank board rate for 12-months is 3.20%

Among the higher non-promotional board rates after Bank Rakyat and Affin.

Thanks. Are you sure that we are able to open ISLAMIC fixed deposit online in AMBank? I checked the website and it only shows the conventional deposit online facility.

Only Islamic savings account holders can place Islamic FD

tis one... no idea what savings account rate... wat's effective rate then? if <3.5%, not so attractive.

however, since it is 12mths, it's good. those 3mths types... too much work to go in out, in out...!

and... can the 20% put in savings be taken out the next day?

I have been following this thread for awhile and im just starting out with putting my money into fixed deposits. Id just like to ask why not many people are putting their money into bank rakyat since it has the highest fixed deposit rates. Is the reason mainly because it is not insured by PIDM?
*
That's one, and secondly it doesn't have too many branches around. For people like me who do not have large sum to deposit, the difference in interest $$$ just doesn't justify me taking half day leave to go to the bank.
