Hi all.. i heard from my in laws that there are now a lot of herbs package offered out there for confinement. have anyone done any survey recently? planning to go eu yan sang after work to check it out, but would help if anyone have done any and could share

eu yan sang quite good and complete. They even include the bath tea so u can bath during confinement

Amway also has it's package...

I guess both should be good as both are trusted brands...

Actually all big chinese herb store have the mix. My suggestion is to visit a trustworthy store that you know the boss personally (or the mother, or the mother in law or any auntie that knows them). Why?, the mix is pretty standard but it matters on the quality of the materials. And yes, chinese drug store sometimes do cheat their customers.

Eu Yan Sang is not that bad, but pls bear in mind, they are more expensive than others.

My case is that, I just pick them up from a big chinese herb store from my hometown, if he dare cheat, all my aunties will go to his competitor store.

Becareful in picking tho, some of them get their goods from China...U all know, sometimes China no quality control one...

Agreed, EYS bit expensive compared to others Chinese medical hall. U can try this "dai ma". They packed nicely with all herbs name n for which day. The 26days confinement herbs for about rm330-350. Pavilion (food court level) got one branch. Can send u their package n price if u need.

If you intend to breastfeed take note of some herbs which may cause low production of milk and jaundice in newborn though.

can i know which are the herbs which may cause low production of milk? didn't successful breastfeed during first pregnancy... really really want to try and do it this round.

I have extra 4boxes of confinement bathing herbs. I bought too many boxes for my confinement on April. Im still keeping it now not using. If you want I can sell to you. . Cheap cheap only ..

rourou, I'm not exactly sure the list of herbs that will affect milk production but Pau Sam is one of them... Do check out the brestfeeding thread in this forum as well. There are links to good resources on the first page .

Just to share my advice, one needs to check her body whether suitable for chinese herbal or not. Not everyone can take it (can tahan it). It may be too good for your body until it over-do it. It is good to check with doctor.

thanks!! thank goodness nevery buy paosum yet..... just got an EYS gift hamper from a friend..... so most things covered.... so asking my in laws to buy the basic herbs separately... he knows some ppl who borong herbs... so get by KG and then ask then confinement lady to masak lor....... hamper stuff enough liao... just the daily drink and so hup pills and bak fung pills need to buy.. lucky!!!

Can we eat bak fung pills during confinement?
