guys, newbie here.... recently i got a road bike from my dad, and the bike is tubeless tire.. i know tubeless tire is without tube compare to tube tire. and the price of tubeless tire is much more exp. whats the different between both rim and tire?? can i install normal tube tire to tubeless rim?
is it tubeless or tubular? both a very different tyre...
tubeless is more of a recent fad while tubular has been around for a long time... tubular is a tyre sown around an inner tube...
both require special rim where tubular is a rim that has no rim hooks as the tubular itself is glued onto the rim..
like the mavic relfex here
tubeless on the other hand has a rim almost similar to a normal clincher... except a more tougher sidewall to handle the pressure that the tubeless puts onto it... it also has no spoke holes or sealed up spoke holes so air does not escape through the rim...
an example is stans no tube alpha 340 road tubeless rim...
thx for the reply is tubular...the tire quite exp rite?
mostly expensive... but there are still cheap ones available... it will still be over 100 per piece...
lower than 100.. you have to search damn hard for it...
Added on October 3, 2012, 7:08 pmif you want long term.. might as well you consider a wheel change to a clincher one... just get a set of those alexrim ones from bicyclebuysell.com or some cheap shimano r-500 or rs-10's and some new tyres and inner tubes... depending on your cassette.. it should be cheaper in the long run...
Just change my antique new tires to tube tire....and test ride 20k. Feel great...
just found it recently wondering did any1 post this before or not 2 amateur cyclist accept discovery channel challenge and cycle Tour de france toughest stage (16)
