RD, cassette, chains and shifter only right? everything! including the frame n wheelsetactually, depends la. if u use campy, then just change the whole groupset n freehub body. if u use shimano 11s, then everything, including the wheelset. except the frame Added on October 3, 2012, 12:02 am QUOTE(butthead @ Oct 2 2012, 11:46 PM) and he swapped his pistol firing finger for a thumbs up... great disguise... no one will ever suspect it... i have the old fulcrum racing 1 2007 (racing zero wasn't born yet), and now i'm on ksyrium SL 2012. just wanted to try mavic for a change.
both of the same class, but completely opposite. main difference: rims: mavic use offset rim to achieve even spoke tension, fulcrum use 2 to 1 ratio spoke nipples: easier to replace. the fulcrum's, gotta use magnet. not sure if local shops willing to do it or not. one of the shops here will just tell u to buy a whole new wheelset. not kidding. hubs: mavic use cartridge bearings with adjustable preload. fulcrum use cone n cup with preload. my ksyrium is still new, about 500km. so the bearing is still a little tight, need to break-in to feel the claimed smoothness. climbing is a little easier with ksyrium, maybe because of it's 1485g actual weight, as opposed to racing 1 2007's 1597g actual weight. but i've heard some ppl say that ksyrium sl's much better at climbing than fulcrum. the racing 1 rolls better than the ksyrium. maybe because of the extra weight, or maybe bcoz of the hub. the hub smoothness is exceptional. cone n cup is known for less drag than cartridge bearing. however, after 5 years i can feel its spin not as smooth as before. can feel some roughness when it spins while holding the wheel. maybe the bearing has worn out, or maybe the cone. cone n cup design, once the cone worn out, gotta replace the hub. whereas cartridge bearings, u can just chuck em away and upgrade to ceramic sets. about the preload, i feel the mavic's QRM is a hassle. from time to time u need to adjust the bearing preload. in fact, everytime u remove the wheels n want to put it back on again before ur ride, u need to check to make sure the wheels are correctly clamped. whereas the fulcrum's, u just set it once and leave it. u can't go wrong with either one. p/s: fulcrum is more mainstream than mavic these days. it used to be the other way around This post has been edited by miaopurr: Oct 3 2012, 11:23 PM |

QUOTE(minizian @ Oct 8 2012, 09:18 AM) Did my first 100 km charity ride (actually around 120 plus km as i ride to starting line and back my home from train station)... Came back with sun burn on the face. knee pain, maybe wrong position? did u change anything prior to the ride, like saddle height? saddle position? My left knee pain again when i ride, sigh i dunno what i should do. I had tried adjusting the cleat placement by moving fro and back. Thinking to go do proper fit on the pedal when i bring my bike to my lbs for maintainace. Notice both my foot were numb when i ride, any idea why? Maybe perhaps i should change to my sidi carbons now?? (I had bought the shoes but haven used it) numb feet, maybe u had the shoes strapped too tight? |

QUOTE(minizian @ Oct 8 2012, 09:49 AM) About foot numb, I had to admit probably i put the blame that i tighthen the strap too tight. maybe due to the new cleat position, i think.Knee pain, I did not adjust the saddle height and saddle position. The postion was as it from the day from the day i bought my bike. Its fitted by my lbs. I did adjust the cleat postion only in forward or backward postion and did nothing more than that. A note only my left knee is pain, all is good for my right knee. |
