In situations of overcharging, the clients may appeal to the authorities in the hospital where the doctor is working, or lodge an official complaint with the MMA Ethics Committee or the Malaysian Medical Council. Overcharging, when confirmed by these bodies, after due inquiry, may be considered an ethical matter and appropriate action taken against the doctor.
