Well I've already tried the 384kbps RM3/day and yes it does reach that speed. So was wondering how would U-mobile be on Edge(2G)?

U-Mobile Prepaid pack is RM8 right? Any daily plan to test out the speed? or only the RM28/month plan available?
*
RM 5/ daily cool2.gif

Hey guys..Just need some recommendation..I am leaving to UK soon for studies on scholarships and I need to consistently keep in touch with my gf from Malaysia..But the thing is both of us are poor fags which could only have a budget of less than rm40 per month for a broadband package..Only requires simple usage of viber and whatsapp..Would it be good to take the U28 plan or the broadband plan for 7.2Mbps then connect it using mobile phones or wifi? She has a smart phone too btw..
*
if really sufficient with 1gb data, it is fine with that u28 plan with SMARTPHONE or 7.2mbps modem

QUOTE(ic-klass @ Sep 4 2012, 10:29 AM)

QUOTE(farghmee @ Sep 6 2012, 05:29 PM)
hi All,

im using umobile postpaid u58, on galaxy y.

i have 2 uncertainties:

1. when roaming (in malaysia, where umobile presence is limited) can i surf the internet? roaming data?

2. do i need to pay extra for this?(when i still have my data quota)

thanks smile.gif
*
1st roaming data , only meaning from umobile3g roam to celcom2g or maxis2g, can surf internet with EDGE speed
2. no charge

QUOTE(coolstore @ Sep 6 2012, 05:37 PM)
bad?

at my place, umobile is far outperform maxis. with dc-hspa+ MF680 getting 15mbps speed, while put same modem on maxis only can get 8.xxMbps. Yesterday done a new testing method, confirm both umobile and maxis also running DC-HSPA+ network in my place (thus both are the max dc-hspa+ speed here), tomorrow if got time will post out a more convincing way to verify network standard and quality in a new thread. share it out.

haha coolstore is our MODEM GURU

QUOTE(noorimanyosh @ Sep 6 2012, 09:59 PM)
how the speed in penang for u28??and can change to umobile while keeping  existing number??
*
QUOTE(azrash @ Sep 6 2012, 11:40 PM)
speed is the same for all plans, best way to test it out at your place is to get purchase a prepaid number and use it to test the coverage in your area. speed depends on location (coverage) and the device used. with my Desire z, max speed i can get was around 8mbps

and yes you can keep your existing number, just tell them you want to MNP
*
this answer appear more than 10times already haha cool2.gif this time by azrash

i top-up at 2pm on 7/9. made idd call at 4pm 8/9.
wait until 10pm 9/9 still no 15% bonus.
so i call them, they said top-up, then make idd call, then top-up again within 24 hours...
so the 2nd top-up will get 15% bonus
work like that kaaa...
*
thats why i said mostly the customer service department sucks

Getting frustrated with UMobile. Subscribed to 20gb plan. Using on my ipad. But sometimes can surf, moat of the time cant. Cant even load lowyat.

WTF.

Have to reboot. Then can use awhile. But then cand load anything. Frustrated to the max. Juat happened since last month.
*
why you are subscribing 20gb plan b4 testing your coverage ?

anyway, most of the time while others are ok with it only you suffering meaning either your sim got problem, or your ipad got problem, may use another sim to try your IPAD or use another IPAD to try your sim
... else the same problem would happen on every1, no point just frustrated there, we just wanna enjoy using the service, but we can't depends on MOST OF THE LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE, trust me they can't help but only reset your line..

agree ? cool2.gif

ya thats why i wonder is your ipad problem or the sim problem...
suggest that call customer service to reset the line, and try on another IPAD or IPHONE
since your case is special cool2.gif

Hi guys, just being curious, uMobile prepaid can subscribe the U28?

isn't it the U28 is the postpaid service?

also, can I keep my number (MNP my Maxis 017 prepaid to uMobile prepaid with my current 017 number then subscribe for u28?)

Thanks!
*
technically U28 is postpaid plan, prepaid 28 is UMI ( unlimited mobile internet )

Hi, im about to MNP to UMobile from Celcom Exec 20

My billing cycle is on the 23rd of each month

When is the best date to apply for MNP and cancel my Celcom?
*
now umobile take 7-10days mnp, better start applying now, no need to terminate celcom, once mnp they will auto cancel the celcom

i see

but at which point do i need to settle the Celcom bills?

On registration of the MNP or later when the application is passed few days later?
*
better clear some outstanding and keep the outstanding of celcom bill below RM 30, so they can mnp to umobile

then pay the next celcom latest bill later

last time my mnp just took 1 day, maybe due to i submitted at kl timesquare umobile HQ (although been told few days), but the queue and crowd really mad... they should have more counter

Added on September 18, 2012, 9:45 pm

ya, forgot you also offer mnp service.

at least got 2 members offering umobile service (rarely see umobile service pop up in online community), interested parties no need travel long way to umobile center and queue, member should be appreciate this loh. (later on we all can roam on Maxis 3G network already, maybe just next month, that time mnp may take more days to complete.)

what is the version of galaxy S3 is offered? 16g or 32g or 64g?
if i wan to change my line from digi smartplan to umobile rm58 how long should it take? i dun wan to change my phone number...
*
coolstore was lucky already la cool2.gif

my record was 3 hours last year august, now good luck would 3 days, unlucky would take more than 15 days (IF ALL INFORMATION CORRECT)

sometime DIGI MAXIS just reject the MNP process with lame reason due to don't want to lose loyal customers, that takes more time for mnp process
