me SE 5 years experience, a few notable related certs, only 2.7k (gross), no fix bonus, no bonus last year, no OT, work on call. but then again, it's a small company.

System Engineer, basically I do data center related stuff.

you can survive and have a baby or two if not greedy. hehe.

executive title is a TRAP!

it means no overtime since you are paid to work non-officially 24/7.

i heard if offered executive title, you must make sure to get commisions from each project, because executives supposedly comes with high salary compared to non-executives. essentially, boss level thingy.

better find a mentor or work with a good restauranteurs. it's hard work, believe me. even a KFC chain manager comes early, goes home later than his/her staffs and their salary (monthly) is only RM 1.5k.

once saw on TV3 a local nasi ayam franchisor (simple pasar malam stalls) can profits to 20k per day but it took more than 10 years for him to build that business to that kind of profit.

I just hated MLM since I would basically doing same thing as surat berantai with higher "investment"

then sell same manure for downline to sale their own

5.5k for a 38 year-old man could be just enough to live modestly with 2 kids I guess
