QUOTE(deadboy 164 @ Aug 14 2012, 11:50 AM) U jump because of the salary? not just salary but a new role and career advancement My current one did not have any career advancement. My superior is only a level above me and does not nurture me to further my career but keep on working to fulfill his KPI.

QUOTE(deadboy 164 @ Aug 14 2012, 01:14 PM) What it means by no career advancement? Nurture? I am totally on my own right now. My boss didnt really teach me anything because sometimes he also dont know about it. ya, it is like this. Well, a good boss supposedly nurture you and train you to become one of the leading ppl in the company. Career advancement is not there when your boss is keeping you below in order to fulfill his/her own KPI performance. Your boss is afraid to let you climb up and faces more competition.

QUOTE(deadboy 164 @ Aug 14 2012, 02:38 PM) So, is there career advancement in my situation? Fullfill his own KPI? My boss got KPI or not? I mean he is not my manager or leader. i'm not sure about your situation, as you give a very brief insight. Everyone sure have their KPI and that's what they will be review and that is the one thing that gain u promotion or increment or bonus too. If whatever job scope you done had an impact on his performance, he sure will notice you and expect you to deliver so he can get his performance review been better. But, if he is ur boss but not a manager or leader, means he is your senior? guiding you on your work? and you are not directly report to him? if it is this situation, i suggest you talk to your manager first. Always deal with your manager if you have any issues that rise up. Not all ppl will know what you are doing and either you are happy or not.

QUOTE(deadboy 164 @ Aug 14 2012, 03:23 PM) My boss is the ceo of the company. I am under him. Small company. He definitely want to pass things to me to handle. There is a lot of thing I dont know and need to be learn on my own. So, is there career advancement for me? well, small company do have a lot of things to learn. How old are you now? if u just join the workforce, i suggest learning is the priority for you. Work more and learn more. After that only consider jump or fight for a promotion. salary is not everything, by times goes, with ur capability and experience, i don't think you will not get the salary and career advancement you wanted.
