My increment is about 7% , 6 months in the company and coincidentally its yearly increment period.
7 % only. Feel like killing myself .
*
laugh.gif I also got mine this month and it is only 4%. laugh.gif laugh.gif 7% is considered good for yearly adjustment. sweat.gif
But anyway, due to my performance, my manager is trying to get an off-cycle for me... Hopefully will be approved.
Else, next year is a confirmed promotion case for me. Either way, I'm happy. tongue.gif

hi guys i am getting new offer from other company, they offered me 3.5k in salary, but the problem now it is a contract based with a possibility of extended contract, should i take the offer? any opinion? based on my experience does the 40% of salary increment difference make sense?
*
24 years old is still very young and can take up contract position. smile.gif
Usually contract positions will have higher salary compared to permanent. smile.gif

I was a contract staff for 2 years and converted to permanent last year. smile.gif
That was right after my internship (same company). But if you are married, then that's another story as job security is important.

*
8 days is as per Labour Law, so what do you think? smile.gif
Commonly is 14 days. smile.gif

Mine is 20 days but after carried forward 10 days from last year and some other in-lieu PH, I have 33 days to use this year. sweat.gif
Unfortunately, I only used 3 days so far. doh.gif

I am pretty sure there is typo error there..
It should be RM1.27k..Which company so stupid wanna pay so much increment for a fresh grad even if you are genius with CGPA 4.0 without much working experience..Their boss must be super generous..hahahahaha....
*
But again 2 years from 1.2k to 1.27k? That's a joke.
Degree having 1.2k salary? Not worth at all. Even becoming a clerk is more than that.

We are talking about Aviation industry. It is totally different.

mostly people get confused and think this is ridicules for the price given for a starting . you mush start from technician to get an experience to grant ur licence and after that ur salary will hike up. sometimes the gap between the technician and lae unacceptable, but u must faced it wether like it or not. this is aircraft maintenance n not in office or techical officer which can get 2-3k for freshie. this scheme of experience i think same as ndt person. google it the salary for technician and licence aircraft engineer. refer here for enlighten u guys. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/264233

No worries, I understand this. smile.gif I'm a HR person myself, I'm just trying to prove that it is possible to get such a huge leap.
It is different for each industry, so different requirements, different pay.

My landlord has asked me to move out next month. I've been trying to find a room to live but even rooms can cost up to RM500+ monthly I might as well acquire a unit already. But even so,  I can't afford to buy anything here except these low cost flats. I don't know how others are coping with salaries lower than mine.

Quite depressing isn't?
*
My room only costs RM 265 (inclusive of utilities) in Seapark, PJ and near to LRT station. Not too big but sufficient for me as I'm just staying alone. Been staying here since my internship days which were 4 years ago.

Though I'm earning more than you, I'm still saving to get my first house. It is difficult when every single piece of property in Klang Valley is expensive. Well, you just have to start difficult and let's not start thinking of buying your own property yet. Unless, your parents are willing to support you on the down payment. Then by all means go ahead. smile.gif

Come to Klang Valley and see how much you will need to own a property. smile.gif
I have to save myself as I don't want to burden my parents to pay anything for me.

Yeah. I guess so. But since I am the 'so called fresh grad with zero experience', then I can't demand the salary.  sad.gif
LOL. Am I that old already?
Okay, here's my life story. After SPM I wasted about 1 year in matriculation, then I took a DIPLOMA for 3 years and then another 2 1/2 years for my degree. I just graduated last year. I worked part time for a job before but only for 3 months and then I got an offer for my current job.
I wasted a couple of months after I graduated because I thought of furthering my study to Master level, but then, things went wrong and here I am.  wink.gif
*
Though as a fresh grad you can't demand but with the increasing living costs, you can try to negotiate. smile.gif
When I started working in 2010, that time I was 24 years old and I got 2.8k from my current employer. They gave me outright and I didn't demand for it. I was happy that time. laugh.gif
But again, before they offered me, I already had a benchmark salary amount in my head, anything lower than that, I will negotiate with them. Most of the employers will understand. smile.gif

Wow, in your forth year, your pay almost double.

2800 - 3500 - 4375 -5468

approximately 25 % annual increment for you. That's way too awesome . u must damn good at something .

I feel like jumping ship right now looking at your stats . rclxub.gif
*
laugh.gif I didn't even share the exact salary details, how did you come up with that conclusion? laugh.gif
It was just your guess. laugh.gif
To add on, all I can say my bigger leap happened when I was a contract staff because I lost out quite a lot compared to permanent employees. Then, I was converted to be a permanent employee last year and oh yea I just had my annual adjustment last month, 4%? tongue.gif
I just received a recognition award 2 days ago, besides some money, I'm truly glad that my performance is acknowledged by others and the HR's leadership team. smile.gif Add another ribbon to my career.

By the way, there is an opening in my company for the same role I'm holding now but will be based in Sydney, Australia. I think I'm going to apply for it, wish me luck. smile.gif

Actually from the beginning is also not encouraged. You haven't learnt much and yet you start jumping to another company.

Imagine if you are the employer, will you take the risk to hire a job hopper? After your investment in this person, you know he/she will leave you very soon? What's the point?

I mean if stay for 3 years like that still acceptable unless due to any special reasons, then of course no point continue staying there and you may look out again.

I have faced similar situation when I interviewed candidates for R&D positions and HR junior positions. I regard myself as a junior Exec as well but I'm amazed by how these people keep jumping around over the years. Only when I further drilled in, I will know how much substance they have. Again, I'm emphasizing that this is based on my own experience and have no intention in offending any party.

Thanks for your view as an employer.

Lets think from a 3rd party observer on the job seeker. Because of this 'bad impression', to avoid it he/she has to slough it out for years at a company with poorer career benefits and opportunities?

Example below: Job hopper = divorcee (both also bad impression 1)
What happen if he unfortunate to marry Rosmah as first marriage, he force to make the marriage work? I rather he bite the bad impression as a divorcee than slough it out with her. Likewise, same with companies.
*
I guess, you might overlook on this part: "I mean if stay for 3 years like that still acceptable unless due to any special reasons, then of course no point continue staying there and you may look out again."
smile.gif

By the way, I'm also a normal employee just like you guys. biggrin.gif
Though in the company, I'm representing the employer.
