You're wrong.

With that salary by age 55 of retirement he will have 10k++ plus, with every year increment.

Pension will be half of his salary. Private sector in malaysia salary are still stagnant within 5k - 7k for senior level and has not yet growth to 10k at staff level, unless you are really specialized in a skill set.

He will be earning the same salary scale in private sector as well. I wouldn't quit government unless was offered 15k++ stable, routine and good beneficial job since  same like the government and most government work are pretty much a routine job with being a family guy it is a plus.

Looks like its always my mum or my dad or my friend...
   

for current economic situation i rather stay in this sector, unemployment still out there.. even in government the pension scheme seems .. can be accepted half of the final salary.

for family man i think this income just cukup2 makan. i agreed if i was offeres 15k than i quit. most of my friend in private earn the same figure as me. slightly higher. My brother working as senior manager at audit firm was lower than mine although has been working more than 10 years..

Better u apply big 4. Ur increment around 5-20% only. Please dont stay more than 6 mths

yea..have to wait and see what he's gonna offer me after two months..if its below my expectation, planning to get a better pay job..actually i've been struggle with this, jump out from safety zone and in the new company i have to start from zero again..sighhh

3 years..its really nothing..they pay me for diploma market rate only as i didn't complete ACCA..tell you,my salary once i got in, its only 1.3..other juniors who came in they told me they got 2k..tell me how am i gonna feel balance as im the senior, i reviewed all their works but their salaries are almost the same as mine? i always trying to convince myself its my problem because i never complete my acca..

yea thanks..for sure im gonna work harder for coming June sitting..hopefully can pass all papers by that time..today my boss talked to me again..my senior tendered her resignation letter..thats why my boss is hoping me stay..i feel bad if i quit during peak as mar to jul are peak months..feel kinda bad when she talked about the future planning in fact im planning to resign that time..   anyway, gonna figure out whats the new remuneration package 1st only can decide whats the next step 

5K before 30..not bad ...not many could achieve that figure u know.

It also depends on where you are working.

Seriously, if in KL without 5k, it will be hard to own a house. Not that it is not achievable but it's tough.

at this era, 5k is really very little. By 30, you will looking to start a family, more mouth to feed. 5k will barely get you through.
