i bought a paif of office shoes from Tang's sale. Brand is Fabi, dunno famous or not, macam cheap brand, but apparently from italy. only rm80-90. full leather. wore it for more than a year already, and my previous job as houseman walk really a lot (8000-10000 steps per day), soles still like brand new until now, leather also no fade or koyak. stitching all intact. really tahan liao, worth the price.

Hello /k/, serious question here.

I bought a pair of Larrie work shoes that cost me close to RM200 about 6 months ago. I haven't worn it many times, just the few times that I went for job interviews and when I started my new job in beginning July. However, the depressions on the soles of the shoes are fading now, making them quite slippery on smooth wet surfaces.

Can anyone recommend a longer lasting work shoes brand?

i got clarks last year, the sole wore out in 6 months. i got them resoled at those supermarket cobblers and they charged rm150. after that it only lasted 3 more months before i had to give it up.

how much should i be charged for resoling? rm150 is too much.

i had the hush puppies variant before and those hurt my feet. i'm wearing bata right now which i got at a clearance store and its great for rm50, more comfy that the HP pair i mentioned earlier but the problem is that it is not leather only pvc.

i am now looking for leather shoes and thru my topic someone mentioned tomaz shoes, anyone here tried that? theres a store next to cimb in usj 9 and i think i'd like to check them out.

larrie is the fuking worst shoe brand ever. i bought a pair of larrie trekking shoes which were pretty expensive. wore them once. i repeat ONCE, and the sole tore off. the ppl making larrie should be sued for making nonsense products.

TS, go and find a model that you like, branded ones ( not larrie ..lol ), and check which size is comfortable for you.

and then buy it from endless.com

i got my columbia boots for rm 250 ( including delivery from US, via DHL ).

If you sayang new shoes, get cobbler (roadside kaki lima is enough) to add a layer of sole at the bottom of the toe and heel area. If it wears out, then can ask cobbler to tear out and replace.

Also, it depends on how you walk. Some people like to walk by dragging their feet on the ground. This will wear out the sole very fast. Try to change your walking gait, walk by lifting your entire feet and planting it to the ground, ala bruce lee / jackie chan (in the 80's drunken master) style. It should not have any scratching/dragging sound.

Also, real leather shoes, the advise is not to wear daily and need to let it breathe air. i.e. don't stuff into shoe cabinet immediately. Wear alternate days.

Shoes will also depends on the batches it was made, even from same brand, no matter how cheap or expensive. Sometimes, good batch can last very long.
