Try to read what they had said carefully. They said they will " ask" car manufacturers to reduce the price & the deduction to be spread over a 5years period. There was no mention on deduction of excise duty.  20-30% deduction on car price may sound good but I'm afraid it will remain a dream. The higher the expectation the bigger the disappointment. 20-30% deduction on the excise duty will be more realistic but the excise duty is only part of the cost of a car price and spread over 5 years period the deduction is quite small.
