perhaps, according to Yeah guy, u should at least get LD2+ or LD2++. to tune down the HP1K glossy signature.

get a buffer based amp from ijan, then change the stock cable to canare starquad. u will quite easy to spot the different and the detail of the song.
as the hp890 does not use locking machanism as hp895. it is much more easier to swap cable.
stock cable is some how DARK to my ear, boomy bass, and slow+fat bass.
=) changing to canare some how help to tame down the bass.

hohoho, don't call me king of HP890.. instead, perhaps doctor of hp890 / papa of HP890. lol

no matter what bad point about 701, as long as it sound good, it deserve the price.. =)
in headphone, sound quality always comes in the first place.


amp the HP890 seems that it can pump out powerful sound with wider soundstage compare to SR60.
don't know about HP895 though, i never like 895.

PDA is like : asal got sound, enough. sound quality is not in a consideration before buying a PDA. and it's almost used to produce clicking sound when u click on screen .=P

different is quite a number IMHO, according to what i comparing my stock HP890 cable to canare. especially on mid-high ,and treble.
bass is much contorlled.
but i can't made Hp895 cable as it's locking thingy is very small in size.

seriously re-considering either wanna borrow or not... =P

no. can re-cable, but it will done permanently, meaning u can't simply swap cable, and it will void warranty too. i have to bypass the plugs. and solder the line directly on the headphone. or modify the plugs so that it take normal 3.5mm plug, or make it connect from both side of the headphone, or better still make it balance ...

me again? =P sigh today baru i tahu i secara tak sengaja implanted so many poison ... hahahaa

If not mistaken the SHP 895 plug is like smaller than 3.5mm, maybe 2.5mm. I tried it and it works by just pluging in the jack without twisting to lock the cable.

i knew it's 2.5
but normal 2.5mm plug can't be so small.
look at the tip, where the plastic part is so hell small. just after the plugs.
normal plug will have one round things around it.
see this picture for more detail.
i tried my very best to make already, and i confirm i can't make it.
except i modify the headphone.
if you want some ppl to make the custom cable with the same plug, forget about it, i don't think anyone can do it, except mess with the original plug.
