Bringing all the pieces together provides us with:
Magic find increases the class ("item-color") of the gear found.
Magic find does not increase the number of items found.
Magic find does not increase the iLvl of the gear found.
The guaranteed rare drop from Nephalem Valor is an additional drop and it is possible to roll a legendary for the drop.
The guaranteed rare drop from Nephalem Valor is applied to goblins as well.
Nephalem Valor is superior to magic find; it devalues the effect when compared to farming without the buff, but magic find is still an effective affix.
Whether or not magic find affects affix rolls is not investigated here, but there is no reason as of to suspect that magic find would increase the stat rolls. We're currently investigating if magic find has an affect on the number of affixes rolled on average per item.
Last and most important: Future data collection may help to provide data for computational research on magic find that can be used for farming efficiency.

also look at 2.3 which is very interesting, 150% MF seems to give very high ilvl 62 items (farming ring/ammy ftw?), and slightly lower for ilvl60

the source u mention in the thread was posted by blizzard, and people in diablofans.com are investigating it, whether how it works, magic find may improve the number of affixes, but how about the level of affixes? many claims that with MF, they found more items with crap stats

no, because crafting already give you better chance by default.

example like i looking for my dream monk fist. all at AH freaking damn expensive.

i bought a fist plan with 5 prop from AH, just keep crafting until you get your dream weapon
it's faster to get than farming because you are aiming on one thing. Its keep rolling the dice for the Fist.

This part (in bold) I got no comment. I only commented on the "number of affixes" part. I've also seen some statistics that proved this i.e. something like xyz% MF gave extra aa% chance of 6-affix rare, but I forgot the sos and actual numbers liao.

I run 200+ MF on full act 1 usually get 2-3 ilv63s.. run 50 MF usually get 5-6.. although they're still crap..

don't think it's a necessity.. if u're lucky then u get good drops..

Advise: don't craft fist. craft dagger instead. If it rolls some +INT stats still can sell off.

all weapons not profitable imo.. i have 6 props dagger and 2h axe plans.. crafted like 30 each.. max dps on dagger was only 500+.. it's ilv62 after all..

Most of my gears are ilvl 61-62 and bear in mind that these items are obtained majority from AH. ilvl 61-62 still have their market.
ilvl 62 + 6 affix > ilvl 63 +3 affix

well i mean, generally i get lesser 61++ items.. probably just me though

last night i was running around 210% MF and i got like 6-7 ilvl 62 and 1 ilvl 63 and NO ilvl 61....
but all of it are npc worthy only...haha

lol, fist very high value if got LoH or crits with slot. For Dagger, i need to research 1st see which plan good.

The main point is: always choose the Act which you can quickly clear with 200+MF. Don't farm Act 3 if you cannot do it fast or cannot wear MF.

also i did my research on weapon craft yesterday. for lvl 62 weapon (fist and dagger) cannot exceed 800 dps
browse AH and you'll see. lvl 62 max i found is 766dps. the rest is lvl 63 dominate the top.


if you want do business via blacksmith. craft gears! that why its much more expensive.

anyway back to topic, yesterday tried equipping full set mf around 114% + 5NV farming act 1...
manage to get my 2nd legendary but ilevel 55...
farm with a fren with 143% + 5NV...he also got his 1st legendary...but crap stat...lol

got a few ilvl63 rare but craps...still cant confirm mf did help me get the legendary anot...lol

ytd main gear with <50MF% and no NV buff, dropped a glove with 10% crit chance + 25% crit dmg

If the piece has int and AR, pm me and i will buy it off you.

Ma precious with dex n physical resist and I just happen to be stacking physical resist
