As the title says, someone play Dota 2 to win while some just play it for casual fun

i play to win. but i don't take my loses badly. it is just a game. just have fun and be nice to others. even if they roll tiny and max craggy exterior at lvl 7

Just had a discussion on this earlier today. Some play to win, some play for fun, but those two groups of players should never be teamed up together - it's a recipe for disaster. Unlike it's predecessor, DotA 2's matchmaking forces players to play competitively. Players who fail to play their respective roles in-game are verbally abused on a regular basis.

play for fun, then improve to get more fun, so play to win only can get improve

I play for fun usually but if play with friends i have to play to win because my friends will be emo emo if lose. lol.

Hi. I've been playing Dota 2 on EU before this. As I was studying abroad.
I find the EU scene a tat bit too try hard (They think they Na'Vi) .
I kinda miss the times where people just pick whatever they want to play. And just play for fun, fun and unconventional strats. So I'm going to go with play for fun.

In the EU scene people are complaining about Russians as well.

But I am new to SEA scene. What is it like ? If anyone can update me, that would be nice.

Well, I play in pubs, since I can't control who gets to be my teammate, so I just play for fun.

Play to win is only legit if you play with your friends/team.
If solo/not 5, just play for fun.

Dota is primarily team oriented game.You dont need a pro to win, but one noob could ruin it all.

If there are feeders, to avoid stress, forget about winning for a while and focus on other goals like killing a specific hero/farm specific item.
My usual actions taken when there are feeders:
-mass bracers
-draw 'do not cross' lines
-form a 3 man farming unit (usually give the carry last hit)
-counter by baiting tower divers around tier 2
-in the extreme cases, forget about defending tier 2, focus on rallying team to defend tier 3 with 5.

Just a game, play for fun but stick to the role of the hero picked.
Some of them pick supports but play like carries.

fun is meaning that all team works well, even lose still fun and worth to play

my friend play to argue and nothing else matter

i play for fun but i think most of the players play for troll / play for scream to release stress
