Can't comment on nova 3. The game I am playing quite a bit is dead space... And it's running very smoothly without fc...

Probably just situational. Consistent issue?
*
Probably kernel issue.Try switching between few kernels.
For some reason these kernel devs love to mess with CPU/GPU clock speed & core voltage value.

Aiks. SEA you're in this gang asso edi ah?

I get FCs from Dead Trigger too, but that was during my Siyah days. Nowadays less it seems.

Anyways, my sis just got herself a 4S. And it turns out her "perfect" IPS screen is EVEN yellower then my "warm" AMOLED.

And we worry about warm screens lol.
*
I'm still in good ol' SGS II gang.I'm thinking of joining the Nexus gang when Google release their next phone.
Aside from the crappy battery life with SGS II everything else is fine.

No idea about iPhone screen. My sister's iPhone have been butchered with multiple hacks & running some sort of black theme the last time I saw the phone(last week to be exact)
So everything looked black to me laugh.gif

I wanted so badly to hold on to the next Nexus or GalS myself, holding on dearly to my heavily modded ICS S2 at one point.

Telling myself that "Quad-core is nothing", "It's just a Pentile screen" or "There's only 1GB of RAM in that thing".

But in the end - considering the S3 was everything I wanted the GalNex to be (Wolfson DAC, 8MP BSI sensor, mSD slot, USB audio... and more lol) - I gave up to the temptation lol.

Weak is the heart of the gadget freak. I'm still pissed it didn't come in black though.
*
I think I have much better self control than you.My heavily modded S2 should last for some time.If Sammy release official Jelly Bean for S2 (which looks like done deal) I think I have no problem holding on till next next Nexus phone release.

I'm no camera enthusiast but I prefer camera sensor which is better than 5MP that Sammy put in Galaxy Nexus. If Google put together decent set of SOC,camera & microSD slot I'm all in for the next Nexus phone.

Main reason why I want Nexus phone is because proper continuous software support unlike crappy support what the majority of Android OEM providing.I know you can flash the phone with AOSP/AOKP roms to update the phone but it'll cripple some of the functions.Don't get me wrong,I still think group like CM is doing good thing but what they are doing is not the solution for the OEM's crappy software support.
SGS & Nexus S basically have similar hardware but Sammy said SGS cannot run ICS.But Nexus S is running Jelly Bean now.Sure Sammy did thinker with their version of Android but aside some reskinning I don't see much of the added functionality that requires a lot of resources.Too many BS coming out Sammy's PR.

I can go on & on on why I want continuous software support for all but then it'll be too many technical stuff. From what I found out from N900/N9 threads people don't seem to like discussing technical stuff here.

Too much out of topic rant whistling.gif

But if you already know that much, you should know that there won't be no more microSD support from the Nexus series EVER (from the GalNex forward) as Google just loves unified storage and thinks that external storage support is EVIL lol.

good question. I want to know the answer too.
Have been downloading and installing many applications. now uninstalling applications that not in used. but I wander where is the downloaded apk store in?
*
Regular apps apk will be transfered to /data/app folder.
Apps that requires root access will be in /system/app/

Basically you can pull the apk files from here & distribute to others.

If it's standalone apk it'll be overwritten by updated apk in default directory.

During my N900 days I had total storage of 48GB.Had tons of stuff inside. After moving to SGS 2 my current storage capacity is only 24GB.But I think it's more than enough for me.I only keep 1 latest nand backup inside my phone memory.Rest copied to my PC.My music take about 8GB+.I still have around 8GB of free space left.As long as you don't dump too many hd videos,16GB should good enough for regular users.

Erm... I remember thinking about that as well, you did a backup with Cwm right? If you copied it to the pc,  then copy it back to the phone/ext card sometimes, there are errors in restoring. It can't read the md5 sum
*
Really? Usually I'll just copy the entire backup folder which contains 5 files to my pc.
The last time I tried restoring (which was ages ago) my phone restored everything just fine.
But do remember some kernel do mess up backing up/restoring function.

Hmmm... I remember this occuring for my SII as well. I've not done it on my SIII before cause of that experience.

I was on Wanam and Siyah when I encountered this issue in the SII. I assume because there was some link between the backup and nandroid detecting md5 sums while trying to restore. I actually still don't get why it can't be done if we copy it back into the same path as it was before.

Sometimes.. even renaming the backup folders will also cause the same issue.

Well, that was back in the SII days... which you are having right now right? If you say that you've tried that before and it was fine then cheers~ however, maybe it isn't that reliable... cause I did get this issue quite consistently when copying to PC (albeit deleting it from my SD card) and then copying it back to the SD card and try to restore and couldn't.

Well, just my 2 cents
*
You just gave me some interesting project for next weekend tongue.gif

IMHO changing the folder name will cause some issue.Because I think the folder/files name are logged in some files inside 1 of the compressed files.Changing folder/file name might cause the CWN to assume some files as missing.

The md5 file should be inside the dated folder.I don't see any reason why it will be modified just by copying it.
Anyway next weekend I'll do full flashing (including formatting my internal memory & microSD) so I'll test this again.
But the last time I did this few months ago it worked.

my nightmare started since may.
and its august now. colleagues been asking me why i am seen using old phones instead of the smart phones.
fuk them.

the customer service told me, on third time, u can write a letter to complain liao...but its the 5th already....
2 sets from them, also problematic.
the other 2 sets from digi, dont have this shyt!
*
My friend having similar issue also.Changed his HTC One X twice but problem still remains. When he brought the phone to the shop they say the phone is just fine.

QUOTE(Dark_Angel85 @ Jul 29 2012, 10:31 PM)
Well, if you're asking whether or not they have the Genuine SME sticker on the boxes, I also got that for my SII last year. I don't know about the PLatinum Wave or the other things like that... it's actually pretty simple to check if your phone is still under warranty - which in turn shows that it is under the SME warranty. There is a way to check via IMEI code.
*
If I'm not mistaken you'll get a sms from Samsung E-Warranty right?
That'll sort of confirm that your phone warranty will be covered SME.

In my case my SGS II warranty period is 20/09/2011-19/09/2014
Don't ask me why I got 3 years warranty.I've no idea.

can't live without the task killer doh.gif
while those using post GB didn't use, lol
*
The infamous task killer discussion...
No matter what phone or what android version come out, this matter always pop up.
Google for task killer for Android & read the experienced users opinion. Then you guys can decide whether you need it or not.

If he disassemble he entire plastic body to spray.

But I think AT&T's S3 should work in Malaysia.AT&T is using same frequency for 2G & 3G as Malaysian telcos.LTE radio will be on but won't cause any problem.

If you can confirm that Korean S3 2G & 3G frequency match Malaysian telco's frequency I think some member here will be more than happy to order some Korean S3.

Should match. Except LTE (unless we use the same LTE standard later, which will be gooding).

But Korean S3 is severely lacking on the ROMs and Kernels part. Even IF you can read and write Korean.

@alwinnng: If you want IEMs come ask me. I don't do anything bigger, no patience to carry cans around.

Personally I'm using the TDK EB950, a relatively unknown plastic fantastic. Beats the Shure SE215 and lower end Senn IEMs clear out of the water SQ wise - IF you like "musical" signatures that is.

Now planning to cross breed Foxhound and Wanamlite. Wish me luck.
*
Well...DiGi has pretty much announced that they are joining the LTE party. But like you mentioned we don't know the frequency band that they plan to use.

Uber powerful hardware vs Custom OS support
Which 1 do you want? It's Sophie's Choice tongue.gif

Foxhound have good eyecandy effect. But in term of performance not so much.
Guess your plan might give you decent performance with eyecandy effect.

Go to system -> etc -> init.d, mount as writable, delete.

In the first place, if you didn't put it there, what's there to delete? I PUT THE SCRIPT THERE, that's why I deleted it (because now I know it doesn't really work).

Please do not play around with /system/ if you don't know what you're doing. Please.

Hence the whole "sharing technical stuff in treds are bad" thing?

Sigh. I miss the old N900 days.

Oh well. I warned them. I'm freed of any responsibility.

@Terry: NO. Wanam only comes with a modified/adapted V6-like init.d script to give memory priority to the launcher (or something. I never bothered to check the insides). DON'T TOUCH THAT.

In stock Wanamlite (with Wanam's StockMod kernel), there should only be ONE file in init.d.

If you installed CpuSleep, just uninstall the app should be enough.

Regular people tend to ignore these warning.

Pikachu not making any script for SGS 3?
