Probably kernel issue.Try switching between few kernels.
For some reason these kernel devs love to mess with CPU/GPU clock speed & core voltage value.
*
Doubt it. Stockmod is quite untouched

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jul 29 2012, 01:51 AM)
Aiks. SEA you're in this gang asso edi ah? Or just dropping by?

Thing is I'm on stock modded kernel, which Wanam has touched very little on except for some sound mods and stuff. If it was Siyah then I'd understand.

I have only gotten Nova 3 today though (just had to see what the fuss was about), maybe I'll see what happens in a few more days.

I get FCs from Dead Trigger too, but that was during my Siyah days. Nowadays less it seems.

Anyways, my sis just got herself a 4S. And it turns out her "perfect" IPS screen is EVEN yellower then my "warm" AMOLED. A shame because I DID try my best to get her a good unit.

And we worry about warm screens lol.
*
Dead trigger shouldn't cause any forced close issues... I feel probably you have to consider a re flash of wanam rom and see if it helps.

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jul 29 2012, 02:32 AM)
I wanted so badly to hold on to the next Nexus or GalS myself, holding on dearly to my heavily modded ICS S2 at one point.

Telling myself that "Quad-core is nothing", "It's just a Pentile screen" or "There's only 1GB of RAM in that thing".

But in the end - considering the S3 was everything I wanted the GalNex to be (Wolfson DAC, 8MP BSI sensor, mSD slot, USB audio... and more lol) - I gave up to the temptation lol.

Weak is the heart of the gadget freak. I'm still pissed it didn't come in black though.
*
I can only laugh at that. I feel you man

Wanam lite uses stock which I'm using.

I added siyah kernel to replace the stock but this of course is optional.

If you are wondering what u lose n gain check the kernel change log
*
I'm like so tempted to flash siyah. Since you sound like you've decided on siyah, what made you shift from Stockmod?

Benchmark & tuning from Google store can bench your  smartphone.

I notice the top 10 ranked android devices were using siyah's kernel.

That's what made me use it.

It's easy to install too. Download siyah kernel. Reboot to recovery. Install the zip file. All done smile.gif

To undo, you can refresh wanam or stock Samsung s3 Rom.

I always backup to titanium app nbefore I do this just in case.
*
Hnmm... I've always took those benchmarks scores half seriously.. I think that a day to day review by people seem to be more reliable... Well, we'll just take it with a grain of salt eh?

Well, running Stockmod with 0 hitches. Only thing I realised is battery life on siyah was better before. Will try to flash maybe tomorrow

During my N900 days I had total storage of 48GB.Had tons of stuff inside. After moving to SGS 2 my current storage capacity is only 24GB.But I think it's more than enough for me.I only keep 1 latest nand backup inside my phone memory.Rest copied to my PC.My music take about 8GB+.I still have around 8GB of free space left.As long as you don't dump too many hd videos,16GB should good enough for regular users.
*
Erm... I remember thinking about that as well, you did a backup with Cwm right? If you copied it to the pc, then copy it back to the phone/ext card sometimes, there are errors in restoring. It can't read the md5 sum

Really? Usually I'll just copy the entire backup folder which contains 5 files to my pc.
The last time I tried restoring (which was ages ago) my phone restored  everything just fine.
But do remember so kernel do mess up backing up/restoring function.
*
Hmmm... I remember this occuring for my SII as well. I've not done it on my SIII before cause of that experience.

I was on Wanam and Siyah when I encountered this issue in the SII. I assume because there was some link between the backup and nandroid detecting md5 sums while trying to restore. I actually still don't get why it can't be done if we copy it back into the same path as it was before.

Sometimes.. even renaming the backup folders will also cause the same issue.

Well, that was back in the SII days... which you are having right now right? If you say that you've tried that before and it was fine then cheers~ however, maybe it isn't that reliable... cause I did get this issue quite consistently when copying to PC (albeit deleting it from my SD card) and then copying it back to the SD card and try to restore and couldn't.

Well, just my 2 cents

You just gave me some interesting project for next weekend tongue.gif

IMHO changing the folder name will cause some issue.Because I think the folder/files name are logged in some files inside 1 of the compressed files.Changing folder/file name might cause the CWN to assume some files as missing.

The md5 file should be inside the dated folder.I don't see any reason why it will be modified just by copying it.
Anyway next weekend I'll do full flashing (including formatting my internal memory & microSD) so I'll test this again.
But the last time I did this few months ago it worked.
*
I thought the same thing as well. It shouldn't affect. Well, if you make it happen, I guess it's just me then.

Update us of your findings

*
Any telco will have some form of restriction or charge when you go over your quota. IF that's what you're asking. Celcom and Digi limit your bandwidth. Maxis charges you. Pick your demon.

Whichever one you choose, browsing won't be halted altogether.

Oh ya , users for SME from Sabah or Sarawak . Is your phone now officially under SME ? Cuz I remember I bought Onmia HD in KK back in 2009 end . That time , its under some 3rd party company , Platinum Wave or something .
*
? erm.... I'm not sure what is it you're asking... but when I bought my SII a year ago, it was under SME. I'm VERY sure this SIII I bought from Maxis is also the SME one. If I'm not mistaken also, I think all SIIIs you buy will be under SME warranty as well when you buy it.

I'm sure you're asking about AP and Zitron right? They still have this?

Not really . It seems at that time , SME units are under that company Platinum Wave *still cant recall correctly if its the correct name* . Something like SME units are under FMG back here . Then Samsung Malaysia decided to take over themselves , thus SME units . But back then , SME in Sabah is still under the 3rd party company . Coz i went back to KL after 2 weeks and need 2 make a claim at SME in PJ . They took a while to verified its SME unit as the sticker at the back is company's name , not SME stickers . Anyway , question is units there is SME units with the stickers already right ? No more 3rd party company . Cuz someone wanted to sell my close friend his SGS3 but stickers in not SME , some other company . Just wanna make sure on this .
*
Well, if you're asking whether or not they have the Genuine SME sticker on the boxes, I also got that for my SII last year. I don't know about the PLatinum Wave or the other things like that... it's actually pretty simple to check if your phone is still under warranty - which in turn shows that it is under the SME warranty. There is a way to check via IMEI code.

Forgot how though... tongue.gif

honestly, i have reached my limit. my OneX case still not resolved, and my s3 already giving me problem.
and senQ manajer dont bother to look into my case more seriously.

brought my charger for them to test, its not charging. test theirs same. but then use another kind of charger not s3 kind, but can. They conclude is charger liao...wtf them !

tomoro ayam calling them customer service to release the kraken on them.
LAO CHIAN PUNYA SEN Q!!!!!!!

If you bought it from there, and it's faulty, you should demand as much as you want for them to get it done. It's just preposterous to sell a faulty product no matter which company it is. I would have gone there and started UNKER-ing them if it happened to me.

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Jul 29 2012, 10:14 PM)
I forgot whether harm phone or battery or not already
there an report said that use the task manager is harming our phone
but I saw my classmate still using those task killer, tell them don't use still go use it, nvm they rich
furthermore, you kill those app, you saw the ram increase but actually didn't stop the app at all
few more minute you open back those app is back again
if want close just use the stock task manager and close, that one really end those app
*
It doesn't harm as in like brick/FC or anything like that. The case surrounding task killers was the debate of whether or not it saved battery. In most cases, it causes more battery drain due to constant killing and restarting of apps. The other reason why task killers/managers are getting less popular is because post GB, the system manages the running applications very well and rarely do you need to clear ram or anything like that.

The BLG1 one works with BLG8. But you gotta mod the zip because phone and contacts will FC otherwise.

Easy way: Open up the zip, go to vrtheme -> system -> app and DELETE the secphone.apk and seccontacts.apk folders. Then flash. Should work fine.

A bit more work will make phone and contacts work fine though... brows.gif

Ah... Just saw his thread... Working on 1.2 and hard at it.

I can wait.

Cause the main one that irks me is the TW dialer and contacts so removing that defeats the purpose eh?

KaitenMail is good. Very good. Thing is, I don't use anything else but Gmail these days so I fail to see the need to run anything else but an inverted gmail app (black is good). If I ever use any other email again I'd prolly run back to Kaiten.
Why wait for V1.2? brows.gif

This is on BLG8.

Main advantage of the vrtheme framework is that it's largely ROM-agnostic, as long as the files to be changed do not differ between ROMs.

And you can largely mix and match stuff as you please amongst vrtheme packages, or simply delete what you don't like. It's very flexible. And everything (except 9.png and compiled xml editing) can be done on device.

Kudos to Pulser_G2 actually for coming up with it. Balrdy brilliant.

But it's fine to wait for v1.2, it should have some "extras". Vert is hardworking like that.
*
OK... you got me with that Black BG

What did you change to make it work?

Guys, I plan to update to the new firmware I9300XXBLG8 since it is UK based, will it affect any fuctions used in malaysia?

no. You can flash any firmware you like.

I think the one you're thinking of is the modem. Some modems work better than others... however, so far, no complaints about the XXBLG8 modem.

I think it is pretty normal to last for a day if you on the 3G all the time. Compare to other phones, S3 is considered good in battery life already.
*
SIII battery life is pretty darn good even without much tweaking. I hope you didn't expect a smartphone to last for days or even 2 days of 24hour browsing and 3G connectivity.

If you said you lasted from 7AM - 7PM with 3G on and browsing with 40% left, I think you got it good

UNINSTALL THE "LINE" APP GUYS. It's broken for now.

This should be in front page sigh.

I dropped a cutter blade directly onto my screen today. Bye bye Nano Optics, the blade punctured a hole clean through. Screen seems fine though.

Now using the free Nano Clear from my Neohybrid packaging. Ugh, I HATE clear screen protectors.

Hmmm Line indeed has been problematic lately but I can still play music/videos without anything affecting. I hope Line has an update for it. Use it quite a bit... sweat.gif

Edit: Ah... the devil. Line Update
