Since GW. They do need to make a living you know? As I am in game industry myself, this current system is quite reasonable, if not better than most. rolleyes.gif

I am using WTFast VPN. No way that I know of that can check game latency.

The only way me and my guildies from EU test the respond time is by doing the heart quest in Township of Claypool : Train with the Militia. The shield one do give a good chance to check the respond.
Don't time the shield block, block when he just about to attack you. So far, I still can do at least 3/5 shield blocks. So, that's acceptable.

No choice, guardian and warrior are given good shield counter skill, we have to master it sweat.gif

Actually Rm140 + FREE Poslaju got already ..

Refer to:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...hl=guild+wars+2

Theres a way to check the ping smile.gif :
Run command prompt and run ping command for  [206.127.158.1] and [64.25.39.1] without brackets. These are some of the server IP.

I got the IP by playing the game when close beta and launch command prompt and input these commands netstat -n -p tcp -b | more  ...and you get the server IP you are connected to.

Alternatively, you can also find some software that runs on background and trace the server IP you are connected when playing Guild Wars 2... such as this software http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/cports.html    .. there are some software that can even trace the server IP and real time ping it for you automatically..but not important la.. since you can ping it your self using command prompt.
*
Ah. That way. I tried using Pingplotter before BWE1, but totally forgot about it when BWE started. doh.gif Silly me. Thanks for reminding. notworthy.gif

Look at the result I get right now. doh.gif Look at the routing and avg latency before reaching Texas, USA. This is not even reach the server yet (which should be higher).
IP gotten from ArenaNet diagnostic utility.

Is it even normal to route to Amsterdam first? shocking.gif

Don't worry la... EU version also can play NA server the support told me. But now people are worry about EU version cannot play the game if don't have EU Ip's. But also dont worry la.. Ncsoft wont be so negligible one ..
But should be 300-350ms even after reaching server smile.gif .. but still depend .. sometimes route congested get high ping.. I sometimes get 250-350ms from GW1 and sometimes 400-500ms which can't play, but GW2 is faster due to their server optimization + huge capacity + server delegation + temporary overflow server...etc.
*
Totally agree with their server optimization/routing. It's still way more responsive than some other mmo(s) at same latency. laugh.gif

But, I still remember I was the black cat to my guild in GW1 lol. Specially when i got assigned to be interrupt mesmer/ranger in GvG. sweat.gif After all the explanation, I will have to do the 3,2,1 spikes 1 second earlier than others tongue.gif And the rest of my GvG life became an official flag carrier or bunny thumper warrior. Hahaha.

It was a great time back in GW1. And been great fighting alongside with LaZy.

Right now. The latency there is still ok I guess. Weird thing is no longer have green on Asia servers, did they switch it back to US? (Left US, right EU)

While I'm reading stuff just now... I saw people say...
Add -perf to the command line to start the game and you'll get a bunch of stats over on the right side of the screen, including fps and ping.
*
Did you tried it? It doesn't work for me. I think they disabled the latency info in BWE1-2-3. Here's mine in BWE1. No screenshots with -perf in BWE2 and 3.

@mashimoro85 I am not sure about the error that you are getting, you showing the Guild Wars 2 site error, but not the Paypal.

If it's just that you don't want to pay with CC option in Paypal, did you try click the "Change" or "Funding Option" @ the Payment methods step?

I am sure Paypal balance works as I am using it to maintain my Mumble and game servers. Also bought my Guild Wars 2 DDE from partially Paypal Balance(~52 USD) and from my Maybank Visa Electron (~27USD).

Great work on 45/50! rclxms.gif
Kinda seems not worth going past 30/50. But GWAMM seems too tempting, but lack of courage for the grind sweat.gif

rclxms.gif Good to hear that smile.gif

30/50 is easy and can be done within a month playing very casually. tongue.gif I assume you have 30/50 too? The other 20 or GWAMM (God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals, 30 maxed title) do take some grinding and a lot of game gold. Less gold if you keep all the items from holiday events (Which I gave away to others guildies who are title chaser, without knowing about HoM rewards in GW2) sweat.gif

Emm. "Elitist shall fall"?

Nothing wrong with some of his points, and it's already a known fact and printed in my 2nd year syllabus.
Problem is... announcing it like that on local community. Could have keep it to himself. sweat.gif Community psychology and sociology is a b*tch eh?

All these aside.

Anyone made up their minds on which crafting disciplines they want to master first come release?

i'll be a jeweller, i think... but i read somewhere you can have 2 crafting profession, is this true ?
*
Yes, and switch it anytime for a fee without losing experiences.

"Although a character can only have two disciplines active at a time, they can pay a master craftsman to switch, at cost of 10 bronze coin/Level in the target discipline. Taking on a new discipline is always free, while switching back to a maxed discipline (at Level 400) costs 40 silver coin. "

If you have done "I Feel the Earth Move Under Cantha's Feet" if you are canthan, Boreal station.
Check your PM. wink.gif

Lol. How is "local community" an exception to the announcement? Which fact did you have in your second year work?

I'm trying it on all disciplines first. Need to understand the entire concept. Thank the developers for the experience which you'll gain anyway.
*
Psst.. "Game Design Psychology" in second year course in GMD. I didn't mention any exception, it's everywhere. No offense to you, I do mention that I agree to some of your points. Just not nice to bring these topic up on community forum tongue.gif We can keep discussion and ranting in my PM.

Hmm, need to hear from someone that tried weaponsmith.

Hmm, getting to 200+ is really fast... As long as you get the idea how things work out. Not really willing to pay for those switching cost, hmm, maybe it just me being poor (crafting can cost a lot sometime... especially when lacking materials in desperate time).

But for my playthrough I'll surely go for sawing first- as I play elementalist, need to craft those unique armours myself. Then, probably making accessories (include gemstones thing)... Or making staff? Maybe I take 3 then... Hmm..........
*
Yea, for some reason, I can't continue experimenting because I got broke too sweat.gif Seems, jeweler is good to have first? Thoughts?
Hmm staffs are artificer.

@valho Always not enough mats for the gear for equal level for me. Either I sucks or too lazy on gathering tongue.gif I did use as much "discovery new recipe XP" to level up craft tho. sad.gif

And... and... and... surprisingly... surprisingly...

Majority of those mining, chopping, harvesting tools you can buy from Jeweller trainer NPC....  doh.gif  Instead of other merchants... WTF  doh.gif
*
It's a good thing to learn about this right before launch tongue.gif So it's still not too late ^^. All craft trainers sell those tools smile.gif

Oh and in BWE3, they added bank tab to craft station. Which mean, we don't have to go back to city for bank if we are near crafting hubs nod.gif Ex: Township of claypool for Queensdale.

Really?  hmm.gif  I didn't see that while in BWE1 doing sawing... So Anet updated the shop list after a lot of people confuse unable to find those tools back in BWE1?  hmm.gif  Good to know that.
*
Yupe, there were 2 tabs in trainer NPC(s). 1 tab is selling normal merchant stuff with better quality tools, the other are crafting mats for the craft discipline.

So so... wanna try the crazy idea of lvl a new toon to 80 with pure crafting? tongue.gif
