Theres a way to check the ping :
Run command prompt and run ping command for  [206.127.158.1] and [64.25.39.1] without brackets. These are some of the server IP.

I got the IP by playing the game when close beta and launch command prompt and input these commands netstat -n -p tcp -b | more  ...and you get the server IP you are connected to.

Alternatively, you can also find some software that runs on background and trace the server IP you are connected when playing Guild Wars 2... such as this software http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/cports.html    .. there are some software that can even trace the server IP and real time ping it for you automatically..but not important la.. since you can ping it your self using command prompt.

Don't worry la... EU version also can play NA server the support told me. But now people are worry about EU version cannot play the game if don't have EU Ip's. But also dont worry la.. Ncsoft wont be so negligible one ..
But should be 300-350ms even after reaching server .. but still depend .. sometimes route congested get high ping.. I sometimes get 250-350ms from GW1 and sometimes 400-500ms which can't play, but GW2 is faster due to their server optimization + huge capacity + server delegation + temporary overflow server...etc.

While I'm reading stuff just now... I saw people say...
Add -perf to the command line to start the game and you'll get a bunch of stats over on the right side of the screen, including fps and ping.

I went back to GW1 to grind out my 45/50, but the game just feels so ... empty.

Hmm, getting to 200+ is really fast... As long as you get the idea how things work out. Not really willing to pay for those switching cost, hmm, maybe it just me being poor (crafting can cost a lot sometime... especially when lacking materials in desperate time).

But for my playthrough I'll surely go for sawing first- as I play elementalist, need to craft those unique armours myself. Then, probably making accessories (include gemstones thing)... Or making staff? Maybe I take 3 then... Hmm..........

Majority of those mining, chopping, harvesting tools you can buy from Jeweller trainer NPC....    Instead of other merchants... WTF 

Really?    I didn't see that while in BWE1 doing sawing... So Anet updated the shop list after a lot of people confuse unable to find those tools back in BWE1?    Good to know that.
