dry.gif got symptom lar. It will not die straight away geh normally. Like you turn your ignition, the starter hesitate a second then only kick in. This is typical symptoms when battery left 12.3V and below. However, I believe most people would just ignored as long as the car starts, and therefore later breakdown... including me

my car shows that symptom already. need to change battery soon. any recommendation? should I go normal or maintenance free?

so, went to workshop after work today.asked the foreman to check the battery. he came with battery load tester, clipped to the terminals, tested the voltage under load for few times, then turn on the engine, checked the voltage again. turned off the engine, tested the voltage under load few times. then he tried to start the engine, the engine wouldn't start. came to me, said battery rosak, not enough power.

did he just drained my battery until the car cannot start ? or is it normal procedure?

1) Load the bat3 before test, to check how much dry on your bat3
2) Load the bat3 when car started, check altenator jalan a not
3) Load the bat3 again after engine stop, to make sure your bat3 sure talak masuk cas baru konfirm KO

Its perfectly normal and according to standard bat3 checking procedure. Just that, whether did you open the sticker and check water 1st. If you did not check... there is a good chance workshop fella going to tear it off, top up bat3 water and sell 2nd hand bat3 for RM50/piece, and the new owner prolly going to enjoy 2nd hen bat3 up to another 1 ~ 2 years. In short, you rugi lah! *if the bat3 do running low on bat3 fluid the time it discharge quickly
*
Did check the water level. almost dried up. put some battery water, the car OK for a while. after few days, car again hesitated to start . BTW, why workshop still buy kaput battery? tolak to them for 10 ringgit. is the battery still repairable or something?

The nickle plate still worth a few bucks can be clean up and recycle. Casing still can be recycle when they put in new nicle plate. Your case could be these facts:

1) Those plates has been running dry for too long, even you top up water doesn't channel enough ION to recharge itself. In short, died prematurely.

2) Those plates already died. That's all, better luck next time.

3) hmm.gif what is your normal travel distance? Normally I'll drive without air-con when I have a full discharged bat3(for example forgot to switch off headlamps), to recharge it 9 9 by driving it long distance to recharge it. If your plates not dead, it could be not enough charge... may be

Since change jor, then don't think too much lor blink.gif

i drive only 15km home to office. my only concern is that the battery guy did push the load button many times before
declaring my battery as inop. as per your procedure only 3times are enough. takot kena potong. if yes, i will gladly ban the workshop.

btw, as you said, tukar already, no need to think much.

Finally modded my rear brakes yawn.gif  It wasn't easy, but finally the mod worked. Those who interested to have your stock ugly drumbrake being looking as hawt as this 1, please bulk for 20 cars then we're talking. My daughter said braking power is quite reasonable, and wifey loves it.
